We gathered together for a brief weekend visit as 3 couples, and enjoyed a peaceful getaway on the west coat of Vancouver Island, staying at the Bridgehouse in the Point No Point Resort. The scenery and location were stunning and very relaxing. The building is older, the layout could be better with one of the main bedrooms downstairs having a bath and bidet but not a shower, the room upstairs having a separate bathroom down a flight of stairs, with an angled roof which makes entering the shower a bit of a challenge for taller people. The kitchen was not very well stocked with utensils but was acceptable. On the plus side the decks and hot tub were lovely, the lounge and dining room were very comfortable with a lovely fireplace. We enjoyed a pleasant meal at the restaurant last night, with excellent service from Jos. We will return!

The best meal of my life? A experience that truly deserves a Michelin star status! Jos our waiter was friendly attentive and inviting from the moment we walked in. From seating us early to suggestions with the menu and drinks. The rest of the front staff were amazing as well. The chefs Kelly and Jeff are a treasure of Canada in the culinary world they really put love into their food. The plating is immaculate and from the times I have gone here it is consistently amazing if not improving upon perfection at all times. The answer is yes it was the best meal of my life.

Lovely resort, great staff, and I will likely return soon. However, I was disappointed that in their cabin welcome binder, there was no mention of the Indigenous history of the land we were staying on. In the description, the background starts with European settlers. No acknowledgment of the Coast Salish Peoples, no note of the local T’sou-ke Nation, or explanation of the Douglas Treaties. In a huge step of reconciliation, the T’sou-ke Nation and BC are at stage 4 of Treaty Negotiations- an Agreement in Principle. This is big local news and should be included. Hoping next time i visit i see that updated in their information and communication!

The cabins have everything you might need for a short relaxing stay: wood burning stoves, huge windows for drinking in the view, kitchenettes, dressing gowns and spa tubs etc. All have a private secluded feel and are set next to trails running to beaches and the Point itself. The restaurant has an informal dress code and a wonderful menu. Good cocktails too. All in all, an exquisitely beautiful place to visit and feel pampered.

A few days at PNP is always the right answer. The cabins are perfect and have everything you need, the hot tubs are always freshly refilled and come with a perfect sunset view. The limited wifi and cell service make it the perfect place to unplug. When conditions allow, seasoned wood and supplies are waiting for you down at the beach house for a fire. I’ve had some of the best hikes, hangs, sunsets and naps in my 4 visits to PNP. While the restaurant has only been open on one of those visits (Aug 2023) - that meal was pretty perfect too.
