Here’s what some of our visitors have to say about their experience at Pointe Des Chênes:

  • "One of my favorite spots in Sault Ste. Marie. Easy to get to, lots of parking and room for everyone. The water is warmer than most places because it’s really shallow; must walk quite a distance to reach deeper waters. It is a bit rocky so wear water shoes! Sometimes we can even see freighters passing by in the distance."
  • "This park is across the street from the airport, so we see many small planes flying over. There are picnic tables if you plan to spend the day. There are change rooms and restrooms at the end of the road. There’s also a small pavilion area for gatherings. The park closes at 9pm."
  • "So peaceful and quite when we went today. Perfect to have a swim on a sandy beach when the weather is not windy and raining."

Plan your visit to Pointe Des Chênes today and experience the perfect blend of nature and convenience. Whether you're here for a day trip or an extended stay, you're sure to leave with lasting memories.

As you know I compare beach with “Anakin Skywalker”. So, this little gem in the secluded world is a charm to must see attraction, giving you the view to the entire Lake Superior with the clouds, sky, sun and sunset. The beach is beautiful too and has small rocks, but more importantly, not prickly thorns, probably cause its maintained unlike most beaches. The sand is golden/peach like. All of these will surely scare Anakin back into his Star destroyer.

Every time here is a good time to have fun with family and friends. The water is clear, the nature is wonderful all seasons. I love the place. Need more attention? It is true. but I still enjoy visiting.

Just drove 40 minutes to get here to sit and read my book on the beach and the gates are closed. Which means you have to park on the street. Apparently it closes on Labour Day! That is absolutely ridiculous that they close the parking area just because the bathrooms and change rooms close on Labour Day. I could still walk on and get to the waters edge but there is NO reason to close the gates! Maybe the powers that be should reassess the situation and consider closing the gates on Thanksgiving weekend so families could still enjoy the beautiful area on nice days.
