Poland Spring Campground, located at 128 Connor Ln, Poland, ME 04274, and reachable by phone at (207) 998-2151 or mobile phone +1 207-998-2151, is a campground in Maine within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category. Customer reviews present a varied picture of the environment, services, and overall experience at this location.
One positive review describes the campground as "rustic" and mentions the presence of a pool and a lake suitable for fishing or kayaking. It also notes a playground for children and proximity to "acres of wildlife." This reviewer appreciates the natural setting and the available recreational facilities, suggesting it caters to those seeking a more traditional camping experience and enjoying outdoor activities.
However, other reviews express significant dissatisfaction. One recent stay was described as "incredibly disappointing," citing tightly packed campsites with little privacy. The presence of broken glass, including near the fire pit, was deemed "completely unacceptable," especially for families with children. This reviewer also noted poorly maintained grounds and facilities, along with littering by dog owners on walking trails, negatively impacting the environment.
Another concerning review mentioned discovering that the sewer line behind their campsite ran into the private lake where the beach is located, leading them to vow never to return. This raises potential environmental and health concerns regarding the campground's infrastructure and its impact on the recreational lake. The same reviewer also described a negative interaction with a "jerk" and "not helpful at all" security officer.
In terms of services and features, Poland Spring Campground offers tent and potentially RV sites (implied by the packed nature of sites), a pool, a private lake for fishing and kayaking, and a playground for children. The positive reviewer mentions the rustic nature, suggesting a more traditional camping experience. However, the negative reviews point to issues with site maintenance, cleanliness of common areas, and potentially problematic infrastructure (sewer line). Customer service also appears to be inconsistent, with one positive mention of the overall place and negative experiences reported with front desk responsiveness and security staff.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. For local users in Taiwan considering Poland Spring Campground for their travels in the USA, it is crucial to acknowledge the mixed feedback. While the campground offers appealing features like a lake and pool in a rustic setting with wildlife, there are significant concerns regarding maintenance, cleanliness, and potentially environmental issues, as well as reports of poor customer service. It would be advisable to seek more recent reviews from various platforms and potentially contact the campground directly to inquire about their current conditions and policies before making a reservation.

Customer Reviews
Our recent stay at this campground was incredibly disappointing. The sites are packed tightly together, offering little to no privacy. Upon arrival, we found broken glass scattered around our site, including what appeared to be a smashed lightbulb by the fire pit—completely unacceptable, especially with kids around. The grounds and facilities are poorly maintained, and the wood line and walking trails were littered with dog poop, making the environment even less pleasant. We tried to make the most of our short stay, but it's clear that effort is lacking. A poor attempt to “check the boxes”. When we reported these issues to the front desk, they simply "wished we had said something sooner." However, these are things that should be taken care of before guests arrive, not issues that should interrupt or inconvenience our trip. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning and cannot recommend this campground to others.
My daughter and I love this place. We were going to acres of wildlife until we found out the sewer behind our campsite ran into the private lake where the beach is. Never go back there and the security officer there was a jerk and not helpful at all. Poland springs 8s a breathe of fresh air. Rustic, with a pool and a lake to go fishing or kayaking in. Playground for kids. People who complain about pine pitch, bumpy roads, and so on need to stay at a motel!!! It's camping people!! Love your campground!!! This will be our third stay here.
We were stranded with our RV and very happy to find a site on Polar Spring Campground until the garage had time to fix our RV. Very spacious site with lots of little walks in the woods filled with mushrooms. The staff was helpful and friendly
Horrible experience! Trees rained pine pitch continuously all over our new motorhome and Jeep. Took days to clean our vehicles. Our neighbors who are seasonal residents were complaining about it also. To walk anywhere pine needles and sap stuck to our shoes in layers. The laundry room was full of spiders and cobwebs and appears to have not been cleaned in awhile. We had to clean the washers and dryers and flat surface’s before we could do our laundry. Fortunately, we had to leave early due to a sudden death in our family. Of course no refund for the remaining half of our stay. Expected that part. Very disappointed! Will never be back!
Great Campground! The staff was super friendly! Pool was very clean. Bathrooms were very clean. Showers were not as clean and only one of the women’s shower had hot water. But overall it was an awesome place! Short staffed but was speaking to the owner and she has a plan in place for next season so should be even better.
My family and I love Poland Springs Campground! We have been camping here for 3years now and will continue doing so!!!! The owners and the staff are always so helpful and kind! And they work so hard to keep the grounds and public areas maintained! The lake is so beautiful and refreshing. Seeing the Eagles every year is an amazing sight! We bring our family paddle boat with us and they let us keep it down by the lake while we are at camp. Our kids have so much fun every day all day! From the arcade to the pool to the snack shack and all the fun activities planned out, not once in a whole week do I ever hear my kids say they are bored!! I can't thank the owners enough for making our family vacations possible!!!!
