Campers at Polihale State Park Camping Area 4 can enjoy a variety of activities, including beachcombing, snorkeling in the nearby reefs, and exploring the park's hidden coves and dunes. Hiking opportunities are limited due to the park's remote location, but the natural beauty of the area provides ample inspiration for photography and reflection.
Visitors should note that Camping Area 4 is only accessible by four-wheel-drive vehicles, as the narrow, unpaved road leading to the site can be challenging even for some SUVs. Customer Reviews
Loved watching the sunset from this beach location! Though it could’ve been even better with clear skies. The beach is remote and hard to get to due to unpaved roads. Though you can manage driving to this location in a car, a 4x4 is highly recommended!
The road to the camp is really terrible, many holes. At least a car with a higher ground clearance is needed, preferably a 4x4. From the main road, it takes about half an hour to reach the camp via this road. I also met regular cars, but it must take a lot longer for them to arrive. But the beach is beautiful, not many people there. And it's amazing to wake up on the beach in the morning, amazing sunrise.
fabulous sand felt like powdered sugar. The surf moves the beach around a lot and today there was a vast expanse of empty beach. We visited with our sedan.. the 4x4 road was passable and dry today December'24
Long drive out there, road wasn’t bad few bumps. It wasn’t raining so road was nice and dry. It’s gonna be a mess after rain though. When we went surf was too bad to play in so it’s only good if you just wanna hang out in the sand and not go in the water. The water is too unsafe.
My favorite spot to camp i. The world! Can't go wrong here! Rent a popup tent and truck from kauai rooftop Campers and get your Camping permit and you'll be in heaven!
Prime camping location. There are designated areas for camping provided when getting your permit. 4x4 is extremely recommended for getting here. There are restrooms and showers in the area but don’t expect upkeep of them.
Stunning beach that ends at the Na'Pali Coast. Worth the 5+ miles of VERY rough, bumpy dirt road. Highly recommend a vehicle with high clearance.
