We parked in late October so the water was turned off and no camp host. As others have said, it’s primarily for rigs that can’t fit in the Maverick Campground. There are spaces that are on the perimeter of the paved lot that are 50’ in length. We stayed in space 78 for $10 a night and were within a few feet of the well flowing Cimarron River. The white noise at night was fantastic. The park was very quiet with not much traffic. It’s all dry camping but it was surprisingly nice. The vault toilets were spotless and odorless and the trash dumpster was emptied twice during the week we were there. The thought of “camping” in a parking lot sounds kind of lame until you set up and your front door is under pine with your stoop in pine needles. You’d never notice your rig is on pavement sitting on the passenger side. It was great! There’s clean picnic tables and fire pits at each site. Bear lockers are located at the handful of (beautiful) walk in tent sites. For overnighters who just want a safe and clean place to park, they can stay connected and park in the middle of the lot with room to spare. For those wishing to stay longer, the perimeter is the way to go. No RV dump here but gray water dump is available across the street at the Maverick Campground. This place was clean, quiet and peaceful so I’d stay here again.
This campground has vault toilets and flush toilets. There are no showers. You need to make reservations early to snag one of the outside camp areas, which comes with a table and fire ring. The other parking is in the parking lot. Views are alright but much better on the outside perimeter. The restrooms are cleaned daily. There are no hookups, but there are a couple of water faucets in the park. There is one handicap spot that does have its own water faucet. There are two dumpsters. There are a few really nice tent areas with fire rings. Some of these are sweetly close to the flowing creek.
Just across of Maverick campground. It is suitable for big campers since huge drive through sites. They are middle of parking lot, no fireplace or table but nice for overnight. Also 4 or 5 walk to site spots by the river. Trail is across a road.
Very nice campground..no showers and Verizon doesn't have service really. They do have wifi but the camp host but you have to pay for it. The camp host was very nice. The bathroom and portapotty were both very clean. Tons of shade and pretty creek right there. Definitely recommend! O and only like 10 minutes from a close town for essentials.
I had a great time. Nice camp host. No water, (don't use the water there), no water dumps, no hookups, no showers. I used my generator.
