Ponderosa Group Campground

Rye, CO 81069, USA

Introduce

Welcome to Ponderosa Group Campground, a part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, located in Rye, Colorado (zip code 81069). This campground appears to be primarily designed to accommodate larger groups, as suggested by its name.

Based on customer reviews, Ponderosa Group Campground has served as a venue for events such as weddings, indicating a potentially scenic environment suitable for gatherings. The trails in the area are noted as being nice, offering opportunities for hiking and exploring the surroundings. While the campground itself is a couple of miles from the lake, Lake Isabel is accessible and provides stock fishing and the opportunity for non-motorized water sports.

The day picnic areas at Ponderosa Group Campground are described as really nice and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. These picnic areas also offer handicap access, which is a notable feature. However, one review mentions the presence of "lookey-loos" seeking restroom facilities, possibly due to the condition of the campground's bathrooms.

Regarding services, a significant concern raised in a review is the state of the bathrooms, which were reportedly set to be demolished (for two years at the time of the review) and described as "horrible." This is an important factor to consider when planning a visit. Information about other potential services such as water access, fire pits, or specific group camping amenities is not available in the provided reviews.

While the trails and proximity to Lake Isabel offer recreational opportunities, and the picnic areas are noted as nice and accessible, the reported condition of the bathrooms is a significant drawback. There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. For local users considering Ponderosa Group Campground for group camping or events, it is strongly recommended to seek current information regarding the status of the bathroom facilities and other available amenities by contacting the relevant authorities or recent visitors if possible. Information on reservations and any specific regulations for group camping should also be obtained prior to planning a visit.

Bathrooms are horrible--setbtonbe demo'd (for 2 yrs now). Lots of lookey-loos wanting a place to squat because they didn't plan ahead. Trails are nice, but you're a couple of miles to the lake. Lots of smokers around the lake. Day picnic areas are really nice--first come first serve; handicap access. Lake offers stock fishing and opportunity for non-motorized water sports.
