What I give 5 stars...campsites...all gravel so be prepared to level up but love that I have room between me and my neighbor. Pretty roomy... Feel like you are outside. We have seen deer, raccoons, armadillos, a large while hairless opossum...my husband says it was way too big to be a ๐๐๐ญ., groundhogs, plenty of waterfowl, and a bald eagle nest. The campground hosts are excellent. Quiet. Now, what I would give three stars or less...the shape of the rest rooms, showers and be aware of the placement. All three restrooms are a climb up the hill. There are no restrooms around the main loop of the campground...so if you don't use your camper restroom or are not camping in a primitive spot on top of the hill....you are going to have a hike or a drive. Neither will be quick. Don't wait for an emergency! Also as a person who loves to camp..I am just putting this out there, time would be better spent keeping up with restrooms and shower rooms than blowing leaves off the road. Also, basically, lake recreation only
We only stayed one night. It was a little confusing to find but that was mostly due to our GPS having issues finding the entrance. Great views, very quiet and clean. We camped in spot 22 and it was pretty level.
Second time visiting Poole Knob Campground. Absolutely enjoyed our stay. Really great site and staff except for their early morning leaf blowing!!!
I am a rustic camper. My family doesnโt use a tent. We only use hammocks. This campsite offers many different kinds of camping spaces. Though, wood and ice are 5 miles away at the store. This is a recommended spot and I would come again. Thanks! From Michigan.
We loved this park. Lots of big tree and shade. Park is very clean. Bathhouse with showers and flush toliets. Bonus washer and dryer for all those dirty camping items. We arrived opening day after traveling and was in car accident in route to park. Rick and Pam Gammon were park host on duty. I had a hard time with back in site. After being shook up after accident. I couldn't get camper backed in. Park host reaccommendated. To pull through site on a very busy opening day. With damages to RV we chose not to travel on to Asheville, NC. Again park host Pam and Rick secure us camping spots so we could enjoy our 10 day vacation. We very much enjoyed the beautiful park and lake. Thank you, Rick and Pam. You made and bad beginning of vacation. Turn into a memorable Nashville/Tennessee vacation. Great job!!!! Thank you. Dale and Brenda Manuel Mammoth Spring, AR
