Don’t camp anywhere near the bathrooms! The fluorescent lights are kept on all night and shine through several layers of tent and tarp fabric=no sleep. The site attendant made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. He told us “you’re missing out” when checking in…what is that supposed to mean? We won’t be coming back.

Wonderful campground! Paved pads for RVs/vehicle parking. There are no hookups, but good exposure for RV solar panels. Each site has a firepit. Bring your own firewood as there is nowhere to purchase it close by. Water spigots throughout the park, clean restrooms (no showers,) and beautiful sandy beach with large swimming area. The campground is right next to a public boat launch. The boat slips are on a first-come-first-served basis, but you can also tie up along the beach in front of the campground. It seems advance reservations are a must. There is a scannable QR code at the kiosk to reserve a site online, but no one in our party had cell service (t mobile/at&t) so this would not have worked for us. We visited in early June and found the campground was not too busy yet and very serene! The check-in process is easy. Make sure to have your confirmation email downloaded or printed in advance, transfer this info to one of the green slips at the kiosk, and clip to your site post. Camp host Rick is just fantastic! He is so helpful and friendly, and keeps a close eye on the entire campground. We watched his interactions with our group and other guests around the park, and noticed how observant he is! He would do a quick drive by when a new guest arrived, but if they were in the middle of setting up camp/situating an RV, he would quietly leave and return after the guest was finished. This is such a small gesture, but it shows how considerate he is. He takes great care of the grounds and is always happy to answer questions. My only negative feedback is that most sites do not have a level place for a tent. The entire park is built on a hill, and while the paved parking spots are quite level, we were unable to find a good tent spot. Just slept with our heads uphill! It would be nice to carve out some tent pads if more work is done in the future. All in all we had a great weekend and will definitely be back.

Once again we had a wonderful stay at Porcupine Bay. Rick and Cheri, the camp hosts were so friendly and accomodating. They were great at keeping things under control at the campground but still allowed folks to have a good time. We always look forward to our stay here!

It's beautiful, campsights are close together. But it's not too bad. It's close to the lake, not a good idea if you have small kids. But, if not, and you dont mind any privacy hey its great. It's a good distance from the lake if you are kayaking. It's much better for day use than camping.
