Postcard Cabins offered a perfect location for a relaxing getaway! The cabin had everything we needed and the perfect amount of space for a camping-like adventure with a few more amenities. I’m so impressed with everything the space had to offer! They included many things like a s’mores kit, fire starting kit, dishes, cooking basics (olive oil, salt, pepper), speaker and more! The convenience of having a shower in the cabin was a luxury you don’t often have while camping, not only that but queen beds with a beautiful view out the window was unbeatable. They’ve thought of everything you may need for a short stay! I stayed in the cabin with bunk beds and it felt like a perfect amount of space for 2 people and we both got a great view from the windows surrounding our beds. My only tip would be to add a gallon of water to drink to your packing list (but they’ve got 2 waterbottles to help you out), HEB is 2 miles away so it’s easy to pickup anything you may need. I can’t wait to go to more postcard cabin locations!

This was my second stay and I was underwhelmed. First of all, I have been unable to access the website for 2 weeks, since before my trip, so I wasn't able to see any of the FAQs or packing info, and I have not been able to respond to their survey after. That being said, the location is good- 20 minutes from downtown Wimberley and 20 minutes from several breweries in driftwood. Close to lots of parks for hiking. It's very isolated and quiet if you just want to relax. But the views from the cabins are just a close up of a cedar tree, so don't expect anything exciting, just calmness. Some bigger issues I had were that the AC unit was impossible to figure out or maybe just didn't work. Luckily it was cool enough outside at night that we could sleep with the windows open, but there is no flat sheet on the bed so it's either a huge heavy comforter or nothing, and that's not pleasant when it's warm! Secondly, it asked when we booked if we were celebrating an occasion, and I noted it was our 10th wedding anniversary, but there wasn't a note or anything in our cabin, so why ask? Lastly, I was told the morning of our trip that there was a burn ban, but the city website showed it had been lifted 3 days prior. When I brought this to the attention of staff, they did check and decided it was okay. I do think this should be checked more regularly.

This was our first time at Getaway and we truly had a great experience. We are from Houston and last weekend we had some friends visiting us from out of state. Every one of us enjoyed our stay and had an amazing time. The only reason I leave 4 stars is because Hill country has a burn ban in effect and Getaway did not notify us. We learned about it once we checked in and saw a note inside the cabin.

This is the 1st time we’ve gone to the Wimberly location as we’ve gone to the Postcard Cabins Navasota location. My family loved it! The location is pretty, and there’s a lovely short walking trail that isn’t difficult for families. We loved roasting hotdogs and s’mores. My son always asks us when we’re coming back as he loves the cabin. The beds are very comfortable, and we love how close Wimberly Square is (15 minutes), so we could get candy at the Candy Cottage and cheeseburgers at Wimberly Cafe. We really enjoyed the beautiful prairie at Jacob’s Well Nature Preserve. We forgot a few items from home, but HEB was just down the road. We’re coming back in the Spring! ❤️🏕️

My family of 4 visited this location a few years back, and the kids have been begging to go back ever since. It's not cheap to stay, but we finally found a weeknight where the kids didn't have school and were able to apply a promo code, making the cost reasonable. I'll start by saying I was well away of the cancellation policy - I added a reminder on my calendar to double check, and when that time approached, we verified we still wanted to go, and even looked into availability to book a second cabin with friends. Thankfully we didn't, because even though a second cabin was available, when I mentioned our upcoming trip to a friend 9 days before our scheduled arrival, they asked if we'd still be able to go since most of Hill country has a burn ban in effect. I had to go to the local county site to even confirm there WAS a burn ban in effect, yet Getaway house is still selling their cabins without so much as a mention of the burn ban on their site and even still selling their fire starter kits that you can't use! They 'helpfully' offered to charge us $50, plus a loss of discount and current room charges for us to rebook in the future since we were outside of cancellation. While the first experience we had here was wonderful, now that I know management is dishonest and sneaky, we'll be taking our business elsewhere, and highly recommend to everyone else to do the same.
