Off grid and off road. Perfect quiet evening out in the dessert. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out too. Some wonderful campers have also build little stone fire pits in some areas, especially next to the mesa edge. Enjoy the stars!
For campers who enjoy boondocking, poverty flats is a great place for the adventures. Several hike trails & ohv areas are nearby. It does get windy, cold, hot, dry & wet. But the camping is awesome & occasionally there are great people as well. :-D
Very nice boondocking camp area! We are self-sufficient. It's not a campground with trash, water, dump, or electric. But the area is beautiful and conveniently located near Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Valley of Fire State Park, and Overton, Nevada.
Can’t beat the price (Free) and the views! Great place to be when Valley of fire camp 🏕 ground is full. We pulled in around 7pm and it was easy to find a place to clear and put up a few tents for our group. Downside is the wind and rough terrain. Great place for RVs no hook ups though. You can have fires and wood can be found about 8 miles up from the site at the local grocery store. There is also a Family Dollar and A.C.E hardware besides the grocery store.
Guessing there are about 75 rigs out here. Using Google maps we took the turn it called out, but there are 3 other areas to consider if staying here. Some people venture far out on these dirt roads, others like us just put up in the main lot and call it good. Some nice big views walking around looking into the canyons, or from your rig. To the end of this main area before it drops into the canyon is about one mile. VZ 4G four bars. We're full time RVr's focused on hiking. Blog link in my bio.
