The Campground Attendants are absolutely amazing!! The view is also amazing!! Saw my first gator but he was swimming in the middle as if not to get too close to the crazy humans lol. My fur babies absolutely love it there. Thanks for making our stays so enjoyable.
My husband and I came here for a weekend getaway to fish and relax. We were early in the year so we didn't have much luck fishing. We did catch 2 small alligators so be aware that they are there. The campgrounds are beautiful! The bath houses were relatively clean. They had a free use washer and dryer. A cleaning station for fish. A boat ramp. All sites have power and water. The staff was super friendly. It was around $50 for us to tent camp for 2 nights. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely beautiful hidden gem. The entire campground was clean. The bathhouse was clean. The host went out of his way to accommodate us. There were two little playgrounds that we saw, both were clean and well kept It's not real close to a town but there's a little convenience store a few miles away. We will definitely be visiting this nice campground again
Stayed at Prairie Creek on both sides of my travels. Beautiful quiet campground. Traveling west we had site 14 and traveling east had site 6. Most of the sites are on the water with fire pits, picnic tables and tall trees for shade.Bathhouse vey nice. Laundry room is available with just one washer and dryer. You won’t be disappointed!
Prairie Creek Camp Ground Corp of Engineers Lowndesboro, AL Most of the sites back up to water. Either the lake or river. Three bath houses but one was closed - from appearances it hasn’t been open for a long time. Sites offer water/electricity only. Our site was concrete but there were some that were gravel. Sites offer picnic table and fire pit. We did not see any fire wood for sale. No Park merchandise. Small number of sites are pull through. From what we could see all offer some shade. If you bring a water craft there are a number of boat ramps easily accessible. Roads are in good condition and we saw a fair number of large 5th wheels and self drives. There is NOTHING nearby, so bring what you will need. We were at site 22 and had one bar with AT&T. Went for a walk to the main road through the Park and had two-three bars. We stayed during Easter weekend and it was quite busy. There is a dump station with dump sites set up for either exiting or entering the Park. Large dumpster, the only one in the Park was right behind the dump site. We went to throw our trash in and the dumpster was overflowing. We did not visit the bath houses.
