Prairie Island Campground

We have stayed here a couple times in the past month. This is a very nice campground with incredible views of the Mississippi River. Booking is easy and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Very clean park. Close to Winona and plenty do to. It is a very, very quiet park at night. We look forward to staying g here again.

I stumbled across this space three years ago, and it really has changed my life for the better. Jamie and Ann have done an amazing job with this space. There’s so many fun activities for kids and adults alike. From the campground, there is access to amazing bike trails for all skill sets. The campground sits just on the downstream side of a spillway, making for great backwater adventures, fishing and wildlife viewing. I highly recommend checking out all of the fun workshops they put on throughout the summer. I highly recommend going :-)

I go every year for the Boats and Bluegrass music festival in late September. Family and friends gather together in the campground where we have three days of entertainment, food, and fun at the camp we make and share. Park a car on the levee road and you can get to Winona for anything else you need. Enjoy the river view! Borrow a canoe or kayak & go out into the Mississippi around the islands and backwaters nearby.

Absolutely LOVE camping at Prairie Island! Fun for the entire family and never a bad time. Staff is always hosting events, providing live music, food vendors, awesome beach, extra nature classes, etc. My favorite place and Ann and Jamie and all other staff are so welcoming!!

An amazing camping ground right on the bank of Mississippi river They play live music, have food & beverage truck on Saturday. You can purchase firewood for your campsite from their camp store. They also have tea, coffee, donuts and other essentials at their store. Our recent experience of tent camping at Prairie Island Campground was awesome.

Sites are small and jammed together ( not our camping preference), but fortunately the campground was quiet after dusk. It's great having Winona and it's amenities nearby. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the vault toilets were very clean.

Staff is amazing and wonderful, beautiful camp ground with plenty of amenities. You can spend the entire time on the grounds enjoying the scenes and activities, or a quick walk/bike ride / drive into Winona for museums, music, restaurants, bars, hiking etc.!

Really enjoy the laid back atmosphere. The location is awesome! Looking forward to checking out town of Winona!
