Introduction / Overview: Prairie Oasis RV Park – The Genuine Oasis on the Nebraska Plains
For Nebraskans traveling across the state on the essential I-80 corridor, finding a reliable, comfortable, and truly clean place to stop is paramount. The Prairie Oasis RV Park in Henderson, NE, lives up to its name, providing a serene and welcoming sanctuary right when travelers need it most. This destination is renowned among the RV community not for overwhelming luxury, but for impeccable standards of cleanliness, exceptional hospitality, and functional design.
The park is beautifully landscaped, a deliberate contrast to the functional gravel lots often found nearby, featuring a pond, well-kept lawns, and swings scattered throughout the grounds for relaxation. New owners took over in January 2023, and their effort is evident everywhere, from the meticulously clean and updated restrooms to the engaging and friendly service they provide. They operate with a level of personal care—like offering delicious homemade muffins at check-in and escorting guests to their sites—that instantly sets them apart and makes guests feel valued.
While located conveniently near the Interstate, the park is designed to minimize traffic noise, creating a surprisingly quiet environment. Whether you are a local passing through, visiting the nearby Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park, or traveling with friends and needing adjacent sites, Prairie Oasis RV Park consistently provides a relaxing and restorative experience that guests rank among the best stops in the state.
Location and Accessibility Right Off Interstate 80
The Prairie Oasis RV Park boasts an extremely convenient location for anyone traveling through Central Nebraska. It is situated at 913 Rd B, Henderson, NE 68371, USA.
Its key logistical advantage is its direct, easy access just off I-80 at Exit 342. The park is located on the North side of this exit, making it simple to pull off the highway, check in, and get settled without navigating complicated town roads. This direct access is crucial for big rigs and travelers looking for a quick overnight stop. Despite being close to the Interstate, the park is far enough away, and benefits from thoughtful landscaping, to ensure minimal road noise—many guests report it being virtually unnoticeable inside their RVs.
The park is strategically positioned approximately 11 miles west of York and 35 miles east of Grand Island, putting it midway between two service centers. This means that while the immediate area is quiet, essential supplies, fuel, and dining options are within a reasonable drive, making it an ideal anchor point for exploring the local Nebraska plains and regional attractions like the Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park.

This a wonderful campground right off of I80. Surprising quite quiet for its proximity to the interstate. It’s beautifully landscaped with a pond we watched someone fish from. They have playground equipment and lawn games. We are traveling with friends and we’re easily able to have sites next to each other. The restrooms were very clean. The gentleman in the office was engaging, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
I don't know why this place has anything less than 5 stars. If you are looking for a place to rest for the night after driving, this place is great. It's close enough to the interstate to not feel out of the way and far enough from the interstate to not hear all the traffic. The staff was so nice and I love that we were able to check in late. The bathrooms were some of the cleanest and most updated we've seen. I felt comfortable and like if I didn't have shower shoes, it would still be ok. I did have shower shoes, but you get the point. It was super clean and nice. The campground itself is nice, the spots were spaced out, the grounds are well kept, the dog park looked well kept, and there's benches and swings throughout the park. If I was going to be visiting in the area, I'd stay here more than one night. But we pass through once a year so this just became the place we'll stop at whenever we are passing through.
Stopped in on my way to Utah. Very friendly and easy to communicate with! Bathrooms were very clean and nice. Felt safe . The only negative would be noise from highway. But it did not keep me up.
The staff is friendly and helpful. Sites are spacious. It is just off the highway, which is great for one-night then hit the road travelers. Restrooms are superior -- clean and bright. Thanks for a great campground!
We made a last minute reservation and these folks couldn’t have been more friendly or accommodating. Put us in a space easy to find in the dark. Level spots. So clean and well maintained. Activities for families like cornhole, horseshoes, volleyball and paddle boats. Highly recommend this beautiful spot for RV camping.
