It wasn’t a day with great weather when we visited but we enjoyed it anyway. I think the best one is the Owen point trail for a winter visit. There weren’t any birds or wild life in the cold but the view and point is still special. A nice spot for the long drive between Toronto and Montreal. The toilet isn’t quite nice though. Try using it before you enter the park.
Great place to walk your pups on the boardwalk. Nice beaches. The camping areas look very clean and decent. Will definitely be back to do more boardwalking. Will be booking some camping weekends there for sure.
Great place, beautiful driving circuit and hiking trails, majestic old growth forest, huge beach area, camping was very nice and spacious amongst large trees/forest. The nature exhibit was full of great interactive displays showing awesome fossils, lots of real stuffed animals, educational challenges (like identifying trees), interesting facts. The lighthouse maritime museum was neat too with great displays, interactive features (like knot tying challenges), interesting facts... the staff at the museum and nature center were cery friendly and went out of their way to answer questions and help the kids engage with the displays. My family highly recommends for camping and exploring!
Today's outing took us to Presqu'ile Provincial Park, one of the lesser known gems in the crown of Ontario Provincial Parks. We were greeted by friendly, helpful park staff who helped us make the best of the three hours we had. This included two nature walks; one to a marsh with viewing platforms and the other along the beach and through the forest to the spit of land where the birds nest in spring. Our last stop was one of the oldest inland lighthouses in Ontario and the sad story of the Speedy. In season and on shoulder weekends there is also a nature museum and a small interpretive centre near the lighthouse. There were more historical trails to walk, which we will explore on our next visit. There are picnic tables throughout the park, and the bathrooms are handy and scrupulously clean. Also worth a visit if you are already in the area is the town of Bright itself and the Big Apple (bakery).
conveniently located just 10 minutes off the 401 and about an hour from Scarborough. The entrance fee is $20 per car, and you need to book online before you arrive. The facilities are well-maintained, with the washrooms being exceptionally clean. From the parking lot, it's a short 400-meter walk to the beach. We chose Beach 1, which was beautiful and had good, clean water. One thing to note is that there are no garbage bins at the beach itself, so you need to carry your trash back to the parking area where the bins are located. Additionally, pets and drones are not allowed. Overall, it's a great spot for a day trip, and we had a fantastic time!
