We love this park and have been coming here for over 30 years. The couple that runs the park are not friendly at all. There are ants everywhere but at least they are not fire ants.

Spent labor day weekend in site 24 and loved it. We made a perimeter around our site with cedar and seven dust. The ants are there but we had no problems. The park and restroom/showers were very clean. For sure going back.

The lady who updates reservations on the campsites, Marloe, brought her grandchildren to the lake and let them bother me and my mom who were purposefully trying to keep to ourselves. Before they came up to us they were bothering a group of boaters. She didn’t bother to ask if they were bothering us or get on to them, or even bother to play with/entertain them, etc., she just sat there and played on her phone completely ignoring them, while her husband stole firewood from a campsite. On top of that neither one the little girls, who couldn’t be older than 6 or 7 years old weren’t wearing life jackets. The picnic table bench is broken on one side and no one bothered to fix it, so we had to cut and brace a piece of wood underneath the bench as a temporary fix. Our campsite has no breeze because the brush is blocking the air off the lake, which is also blocking any sort of view.

Great campsites! Many are a short walk from a nice sandy swim spot. Lots of great shallow areas along the shore, fun for kids. Watch out for slick spots of clay, though. Tell your kids the clay is nature's play-doh, and they will keep busy for hours! Most of the sandy areas are really nice, fine sand. If you get a windy day, the lake will even give you waves. NOTE: Some spots say online that they can accommodate a really large size camper, but require expert level maneuvering to get in and out. OR, may have loose gravel or untrimmed trees that make it impossible. Call and chat with the park ranger if you have a plus size rig, just to make sure your chosen spot will be appropriate for your camper! ALSO: Like most parks in Oklahoma, there is a TON of poison ivy. My kids are well aware to stay away, but if you or your kids can't easily recognize it, check w the park staff. Stay on pathways.

Love this campground. Only thing is prepare for ants. Ziplock everything before you get there and spray your camper in advance. We always take spray to put under camper before setting up and spray outside of camper when set up. Plus all the pre stuff we do before getting out there. Didn't have a problem after doing all that. Just have to stay on top of them. Other than the ants great place.

The scenery is nice. The campsites are decent sizes. This was a first time visit and site 5 was way to close to 4. If you only need to set up one tent at camp 5 then you are ok. We needed to set up two & our neighbors were Super close at 4. We could here all the noise (loud laughing & banging) past quiet time 10pm. If you come to enjoy Preston Bend --- bring Ortho bug spray. It was the life save from the millions of ants. We sprayed it around tents & table area. Because the ants will end up in everything.
