This is a beautiful campground right along the river and we have come here many times. However, they no longer allow campfires and that, to us, is a major part of camping. I don’t think it’s necessary to offer free wood. That’s a lot of work for the campground, but those that are experience campers are happy to bring their own or buy their own. Unfortunately, due to that change in policy, we will not be back
Beautifully landscaped campground. We had a site across the river against the mountain. Best sites are definitely on the river. Staff is very friendly. Saturday morning delicious homemade cinnamon rolls are available. Laundry is only available Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from noon until 4:00. There was a line forming at 11:30. We ended up driving 25 miles to Dolores to do our laundry. Although this is a lovely, quiet campground, we probably would not stay again unless we could get a river site.
I absolutely loved this RV campground. The layout was well thought out. Staff was extremely friendly. We made reservations for next fall, and they were nearly sold out.
This is a beautiful campground, but not worth the trip if you are bringing kids. It seemed the majority of sites were 55+ adults. The sites are well kept, facilities are clean, and it’s in the most perfect location right next to the river. Close to many tourist places, lakes, and fishing spots. However, we came with our two little kids and a couple other families, and did not feel welcomed. Children under the age of 18 were not allowed to the bathroom by themselves. Staff told children in our group they could not play with or collect sticks and rocks- and then inappropriately engaged with them in aggressive conversation about that while no adults are present. They have also indefinitely taken away the use of wood burning fire pits because “people are irresponsible with them.” We were always outside playing in our campsite, and received glares from older adults sitting outside of their campers. I would recommend this place if you are a 55+ adult who does not spend much time outside of your camper and enjoys strict rules from staff members.
Beautiful area and location. Super clean facilities and the staff is very friendly. Already booked our next stay. Highly recommend this park. Thanks everyone.
