Drove out to take a peek at the Dark Skies (arrived before sundown) This is a GORGEOUS place! We also checked out the restrooms because we do that too and must say, given the style of waterless facility, these were very very clean and well maintained. Plus, they have floating restrooms! Recommend this as a place to hit up, day or night. The night sky... WOW.
One of the best in Oregon, clean and tidy with super friendly rangers. Launching ramp, fish cleaning station and beautiful lake with super fishing. Nice beach for kids to play and very clean bathrooms. Huge Tent camping area, dog walk and shoreline. It does get crowded in the summer.
Good day use area, very beautiful. The campsite itself however was dusty and uneven which isn’t too bad but is a good thing to note. Fishing when we were was rewarded with sea grass which made it frustrating, bring a boat if you plan to fish this beautiful lake.
The park was great! Went because it is a Dark Sky Site and always wanted to see the Perseid meteor showers, they have a program that a ranger talks about the event and has 2 large telescopes that you can use with his help, saw the moon, the craters on it, Saturn and Pluto and nebula, it was fantastic, ranger was excellent and so willing to share his knowledge, so was a friend of his who was visiting, by chance the Northern Lights appeared one of the nights too. Saw lots of meteors too. The park showers and bathrooms were spotless, campsites large, plenty of room for tents. Good sized roped off swimming area with sandy Beach, weather was good, lot of wind.
Most beautiful place I have been in a while! Kids could play in the water, took a walk and watched the amazing sunset. Very peaceful!
