Great dispersed camping numbered spaces. The road into proctor road is easily accessible by any vehicle I drive a 26 ft converted bus and have made it in and out no problem. There are free range cattle that will come over and say hello. It can get cold in winter. Love this place over all.

Doable first come first serve dispersed camping. Some sites are super large and great for group camping and/or sharing. The road is not suggested for low clearance. Lots of scraped rocks were proof of that. There are 12 official sites, with the last one ending at 1.6 miles for main road. Very slow 5mph even with high clearance. Will post photos in order of sites and pull offs. Some do not have official numbers and the photos I post in between numbered sites are in order of passing. Only a few with shade certain times of the day. Most of the large numbered sites are for more than one car. After speaking with the ranger it is okay to take a second camp site in a numbered site as they are not reserved and there’s plenty of room to share. Along the road there are private gates and some closed areas that are all marked. Also, some sites have hammock trees!

Highly recommended just for trucks, vans and very small campers as the path is full of rocks and narrow! It is a good spot just to park, there are no restrooms or picnic areas here. Reception is still good at least. And be sure to watch out for all the deer and cattle while driving!

My absolute favorite camping spot. Sometimes the place is empty and the deer have the run of the place. The people are great no one ever leaves trash and everyone is pretty quiet. It’s great 🥰🥰🥰

Proctor campground, Elevation: 4418’, 31.73963, -110.88831 Located just beyond Proctor Road Parking, has 13 dispersed campsites on a 1.5 mile stretch of dirt road. Sites 12 and 13 require high clearance vehicles And these are the only sites that have overhanging branches along the road. There are also three gated private properties. Lots of wildlife, mule deer in my campsite daily. Great Verizon service, was able to stream movies. Good stargazing in spite of smoke from California wildfires. Close to Madera Canyon Trail, hiked to Bog Springs via Madera Trail. Also, gated trailhead to Elephant Head just past 13th campsite. No services, pack in/pack There are campfire rings.
