We arrived here on aTuesday and stayed 2 nights in late June, 2023. A lot of your camping experience depends on who is camping across from you. First night there was a very loud family with barking dogs and screaming kids. Luckily, they left the next morning and the entire campsite became a great, calm and relaxing experience. Restrooms were clean and the host was very nice. Walked down to the lake and it was beautiful. Would definitely come here again.
Beautiful setting. Campsites are nicely spaced apart and Richard the camp host was friendly and helpful. Campground was clean and well kept. Verizon access available. Access to the reservoir is not immediate in the campground. You need to walk/drive down a dirt road that’s definitely 4 wheel drive only or drive down to the boat launch or access via the Lakeside campground. It cools down nicely at night so you sleep well. Easy and quick access to Truckee and Lake Tahoe. Reservoir was great to kayak in. The shore is pretty mucky so not great for swimming. I’d consider it a great base camp for activities in the area but not a destination campground.
Took my son here with my dad for his first camping trip. Had an RV, it was a nice place, grounds were well kept and it was quiet. Limited facilities and no easy path to the lake would be the only issues.
We stayed during the week, there was plenty of first come first serve sights available. Very friendly and helpful camp host. The vault toilets were clean enough and the camp sites nicely spaced. The trail down to the reservoir is short and we enjoyed a swim even though the water level was low. Very comfortable and peaceful stay.
gorgeous campgrounds, nice clean reservoir, blue waters, superb sunsets. overall highly recommend spending a night here.
We’ve stayed here on a couple of different nights. It’s reasonably priced and the amenities are clean. We loved the massive sites and it’s far enough off the highway that it’s very peaceful and quiet. It can get quite cold at night even in the middle of the summer.
