"Love Proud Lake! We camp here at least 2 times a year. It's our home away from home (which is only 6 miles away)."

"Great place for fall camping, but would steer clear in the summer if you want a nice beach."

Came for the Halloween weekend. There are many sites on hills. It's a smaller campground, but is very long. The bathrooms are right in the middle, so be prepared for a hike if you're on the ends. There's no playground, but they do have a basketball court, gaga ball, and ladder ball. There's 8 showers, they were fairly clean. No beach, more like a grassy knoll by the "boat" launch. More for canoes kayaks and smaller fishing boats. Camp host station was pretty amazing, giving out bagels and doughnuts, coffee and such in the morning. Pumpkin painting in the afternoon and popcorn in the evening. Definitely a good place for fall camping, but would steer clear in the summer if you want a nice beach.

Love this campground! Normally very quiet, gorgeous, shady and it has no pads so you can park your camper in whatever direction you like! Just beware of the hickory trees in the fall. They will scare the snot out of you when they fall on your roof!

We visited five Michigan State Parks in 2023. This park was our least favorite. The campsite was listed as level when I made the reservation online. We ended up having to go to Home Depot to get some cinder block halves to level the camper. Our site was absolutely NOT even close to level. The neighbors that we had on two different nights were loud talkers, and played loud music past 11:30 p.m. They only offer electricity only. No water or FHU sites. Definitely will not be back.

Lots are good size. Grade is pretty good at most of the sites I saw. Bathhouse has exterior doors for individual shower stalls. Water for campers is at the entrance. The spigots throughout the campground are not threaded for a hose. There are sewage clean out stations at the entrance to the park.
