Customer Reviews
As far as a campground goes, this place is fine. If you are looking for a place to say with a place to board your horses, it's probably great. But they are more focused on the long term tenants than short term stays. When we were calling in to book our stay, we could not get an answer as to rather they had a spot for us or not over the coarse of 3 calls and we could not get a call back. Once we did get an answer, we were grateful to find a place when short term RV parks are pretty hard to find in the area. We did find that the face to face service was better than on the phone, but still not a high priority. There is a laundry room with restrooms. But if you want to use the showers, you need to be full time. No propane, no convenience items for sale in the office, the playground is ancient and in poor condition, and our spot did not have a picnic table.
Lived here for over 3 years as a war era veteran in transition from homelessness - after a hit and run driver almost killed me over 5 years ago.... .... after I stopped in to tell them my story and inquire about prices, Gina made sure that I was on the reservation list for a cabin. (I had just gotten a job at Goodwill, but was living in my pickup truck). After a few months of living in my truck (in winter) & working at Goodwill, Gina called me with the news of an available cabin! I was sure I had been forgotten (like all the other times), BUT NO!! - Pueblo West Campground is run by people who really care about people.... Pueblo West Campground is currently under updates and improvements all across the property. I see major investments in all of the grounds & facilities - and it shows. Pueblo West Campground is a nice RV park that also has horse boarding, a bicycle & motocross track, a quiet & safe environment, with a strong "neighborhood watch" security, - and shopping just a walk away.... If you're passing through, check them out. No disappointments. Right on the foothills of the Rocky mountains. A 1/2 hour from the campground & full of the local history of the West, Canyon City's Great River Gorge is a place to explore, take stunning pictures, aircraft scenic tours, zip lining or skydiving at the Gorge! Colorado Springs & Pike's Peak are 1/2 hour away, but if you want to stay local, there is bicycle/hiking trail access from the RV park. Pueblo Lake State Park allows awesome days or weekends on the water, on the trails and bike paths, with camping available as well. While there, make sure to go to the Liberty Point Memorial for veterans that is located above the lake with stunning scenic vistas in every direction. A beautiful area summer or winter, good, trustworthy people, a VERY dedicated staff, and your choice of a slow, relaxing stay - or exciting extreme fun in the area's many venues...well worth your stay!
UPDATE...... Decided to go to the office to talk about what happened yesterday and see if they could be adults and a respectable business and at least come to a better understanding of why they decided to kick me out because of their mistake. A simple mistake. Stupid really but apparently the girl owns it and doesn't care about keeping her business in good standing with the public. The older lady was very nice but the owner is very rude and disrespectful. It's not worth the headache to stay here. I am also reporting them to the BBB. I am glad to see you read these bc what you did and how you behaved is unprofessional. Oh and BTW your camera will see me sitting on the couch and then walking out the door. 🤣. Your videos mean nothing to me because I did nothing. 🤣. Your Threats are just words. I said I would give you a bad review because your behavior was so unprofessional. I also told you while sitting on the couch that if you had worked with me I would have changed the review. But you choose to still be rude and dismissive because you are mad that I cought the mistake. Check out is tomorrow morning and I am off to see better places with a smile. Hope you have a wonderful day. Unfortunately one star is to much but it won't let me give a negative. It started out good and somehow ended very poor. I came in and paid for a week and explained I don't get my disability until the first but I would go monthly as soon as I could. I explained I would have to save to come up with the full amount at one time to start monthly vs weekly. Let's do the math now.... weekly is 200 plus electric, monthly is 600 plus electric. So I was paying 800 Plus electric..,... just wanted to start with that. I noticed that when I came in on my second week to pay they had put the wrong check out date. Now I came in a day early to pay for my next week so I thought it was a simple mistake no big deal....welllllll....it was.....after being rudely talked to and even disrespected and after having them look at a calendar and count the day they notice they had made a mistake. But instead of apologizing and just simply changing the date the girl up front decides I now can't stay week to week and I have to leave. So then after I stated that she was kicking me out because they made a mistake that is a easy fix she decided I had to leave on the following Thursday and I didn't have to worry about the electric....what....makes no sense and they lost money just because you couldn't admit your mistake and just change a date. I hope the owner knows how uneducated the staff is and that he lost money. I am in bed by 9, make no noises pay on time. I don't recommended this place. You also are not allowed to use the showers. Only the cabin rentals can use the showers. As far as the horse area....I wouldn't leave my horse there. Very run down horse area. As for dogs...I didn't have a problem with my dog being there. I just don't understand people. Simple mistake had to turn out so bad. Ridiculous really.
I am a full time resident have been here for a year now because of my job. At first I heard some story's not the best story's and I have not experienced one bad thing. the new owners come in and cleaned this place up before i got here. its quite and peaceful I have not seen or experienced any of the crazy things I heard. The owners and managers are nice and watch over the place and manage it vary well its clean and peaceful place to stay. The price are vary reasonable I have been to other camp grounds what are not as nice what cost alot more.
Wenliked it just fine. Only there one night. Easy hook up. Walmart is close and propane was filled just up the road. Not much grass on propert. Manybpull through sights. No problem staying here again.
