Quail Campground, space 87, SPACIOUS! (Site says up to 3 cars but really fits 2 cars or a car + trailer perfectly) lots of green grass, trails, lake and hookup spots. Pretty clean, dumpster bins, clean restrooms plus a shower, and water supply. Stayed for President’s Day and it was empty so no neighbors or loud noises. Close to city and stores which means you can get last minute supplies from the local Target and other nearby convenience stores. I would gladly recommend it to anyone trying to get away for an overnight or weekend experience. Close to pretty much all LA county just about 60 miles away from most places.
I was able to park my SUV and attached 26ft trailer onto the campsite without sticking out into the road and is was angled for easy backing out of the spot. Bathrooms were clean and close. I prefer this campsite over the RV one. You have to back in over there in most the spots. I don't need electric or water hookups. Only complaint was the amount of broken glass around my site but blame that on the idiots there before us
Pic is from the beach at parking lot 9. On the reservation map, Quail looked like the tent locations were more spaced out. Couldn't tell if anything was going on at either amphitheater, but the museum is only open Friday? Bring your own beach chair and shade in case you don't get a picnic table at the beach. The camp has flush toilets, a shower, a dumpster nearby (don't leave food or trash out at night), running water nearby, a drinking fountain at the bathroom, and friendly employees. Google Maps says this is in Moreno Valley which is technically true, but it's actually in Lake Perris SRA. LoL, someone said that the firewood was cheaper at the Stater Brothers but unless you're already going there it's a 20 minute drive so if you're only getting one or 2 bundles, it's worth getting it at the campground gate (time and gas) but if you need other supplies, the shopping area around the Stater Bros is huge, including a Walmart Supercenter and most fastfood restaurants.
There are group campsites RV hookups tent camp sites I chose to be placed for this near the entrance I was looking for a relaxing time only Downer is the ants
It's relaxing, showers are hot,I give it a thumbs up👍staff is great camping is cool,
