I came through Durango on Labor Day weekend looking for a room. The young gentleman Jake at the front desk was extremely helpful got me in even recommended a very good place to eat super nice guy. very friendly, room was very clean and comfortable will definitely stay there again. Jake was a great help even allowed me to park my motorcycle under the covered parking by the office. Was a great experience looking forward to staying there again.
We had a good stay. It’s a good value for a room close to the river and parks. Rooms are basic but clean. It’s an older property so there are some squeaks here and there but everything was fully functional. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic continental but a good option for something quick.
Okay for a quick over night. Check in clerk was extremely helpful and cheerful. Room was okay but the hotel has seen better days. There were holes in the decking outside the rooms and I suspect from the feel walking on it, hidden under the carpet inside as well. The parking lot can be difficult to get back out of onto the road. If all you want is a basic room to sleep and get back on the road, it's fine.
We stayed in one of the lower level rooms and we had neighbors that had barking dogs. The dogs barked late into the night and started again at 5am. Nothing was done about it after calling the front desk and complaining. Upon checkout, our card was charged an extra $300 as a "smoking fee" when we never smoked in the room. They have a smoking area which we used and it was covered in dog feces. If I could give negative stars, I would. I've been coming to durango for years, and will never stay at any quality inn ever again. We never smoked in the room, but good luck proving it. This establishment will do whatever they want and there's nothing you can do about it.
Shared a room with my friend as price was better than staying in Ouray to take pictures and hike. Got there Wednesday 10/2/24 and left Sat 10/5/24. I didn't take any pictures of our room. It is an older hotel but perfect for a place to sleep and shower. Definitely bring your own shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Staff was friendly and highly recommend if you just need a place to sleep and shower. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as we brought our own food. I can say it looks like the are on the process of updating the paint on this hotel.
