The room was acceptibly clean. the heat unit clicked on and off constantly all night, with an erratic triple-click a lot of times. Couldn't use the fitness room, because it stank of urine, I had to turn around and leave after 5 seconds because I started choking on the stench. The folks at the office were wonderful and friendly though, and breakfast was good.
Good, budget-conscious choice in the area. Exterior doors so if you're on the first floor, you'll probably have about as easy access to your vehicle as you can possibly get. Breakfast is limited and rooms could use a little updating. But they were clean. And no shady activity at all, probably because it's the Berkshires. The location, though, just a few minutes walk to downtown. That's the best part. Amazing! Plus, there's a CVS right next door if you need anything. If you're looking for a basic, no-frills lodging option, this is a great place.
First, Brian, who works the front desk was wonderful! Very professional and helpful with everything, including best places to hike. Room was nice. Clean, comfy. Fridge, microwave. Very, very, close to shops. Breakfast was decent too. Hot and cold selection. I would recommend it. Price was THE most reasonable as well. I was a solo traveler.
There's a gemstone at this property you won't find anywhere else. His name is Brian and he was the manager when I stayed there. The office is separate from the hotel. You have to go in there to eat breakfast. I had some horrible experiences on the road and was on my way home. I decided to eat breakfast and when I walked in the most tranquil peaceful music was playing. It literally made me feel better. So I asked if this was a radio station and Brian said no it's Pandora. He plays the music because he finds it tranquil and peaceful in hopes the guests will be affected when they come in. Just in that itself is something I have never had at another quality inn or comfort inn property. The general attitude of managers is they really could care less about you. But not only does Brian care, he is so friendly thoughtful and down to earth. Had a great conversation with him. On top of that he cares about the food he puts out for breakfast. It was the same scrambled eggs and sausage that you get it all these other properties but this food tasted great. He likes to put some butter in the eggs to help with flavor. No other property cares about you enough to even think about doing something to make the crap food taste good. But Brian does. I normally only eat three pieces of link sausage and one spoon of eggs but that particular day I went back three times just because the food was so good and I was so impressed how much one man cares about people. He needs to be CEO of the company. He puts the guests first and you know it. And you can feel it. I don't know if he strictly works mornings but he alone is worth a visit there. There's also a manager that works PM and isn't really worth a flip. No personality nothing. A weirdo who abuses his power. God bless you Brian.
It’s basic but clean and the service was great. The town is beautiful. There are shops around and a gas station that opens late. Highly recommend for a stopover or on a hiking trip. The area was quiet , I had a great sleep. Does not have laundry room.
