Quality Inn near Hearst Castle

Wow, what a wonderful hotel with superb service! We were apparently upgraded to a seaside room because we are Choice Members. The room had everything we needed, the balcony and view of the sea an extra benefit. Mr. Herrera greeted us by name in the morning. The breakfast was excellent with hot food (even biscuits and gravy). Plenty of parking. Everything was very clean. Definitely we'll stop here on our next venture up the CA 1.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights. Our initial booking was for 3 nights, but the service, comfort, and convenience was so great, that we extended an extra night rather than staying a night down in Morro Bay. We've stayed at this property multiple times over the last several years. Exceptional customer care is received each time. And while we have nothing but kind words for all of the staff, Edward stands out as one of the absolute best in the hospitality industry (we travel a lot and have many examples to compare this to). Edward goes above and beyond, makes you feel as an honored guest, and radiates positivity and a welcoming charm. I forgot my sweater in the room after we checked out. We received a call from Edward letting us know about it and assisting us with an easy, inexpensive return option (we live 6 hours away and were already home). And we'd like to extend an extra *THANK YOU* to the staff that assisted in returning to the sweater to the front desk! Not all lodging facilities will put in this effort (ask us how we know)! There are many great choices in San Simeon for lodging; we've always been delighted with all of the hospitality workers and locals each time we visit. But we continue to choose the Quality Inn because the rooms are spacious, clean & comfortable, free breakfast, our dog stays for free, and we experience exemplary service from people like Edward and the rest of the staff. Oh, and the free fresh-baked cookies, coffee, tea, and hot cocoa (available 24/7) are always enjoyable, too. We look forward to staying here again in the near future!

Hard to find more “bang for your buck “! This is an old hotel as is all the hotels in this area. We had a king bed with sofa bed and balcony and the room was humongous and very clean! Slept really well and the shower had great water pressure. Cookies at the desk night and morning. Great hot breakfast and muffins to go!

We loved the area and the food in the restaurant was so good. Service was 5 star all the way. The rooms were beautiful and spotless. The hot tub was so soothing after 3 tours to the hesrst castle with all those stairs. The man who runs the front desk is sweet and kind and takes pride in having a clean establishment. He's right on top of everything. And the delicious cookies he makes is the cherry on the top! Highly recommended people!

We enjoyed our stay so much we extended it by another day. Edward Herrera was so accommodating he noticed my husband was a Cal Poly dad and upgraded us for that reason. He addressed us by name during our entire stay and made sure we had a midnight snack to hold us over until breakfast. I've stayed in a lot of places up and down the coast and never have k ever come across such a wonderful accommodating person. The rest of the staff was just as friendly and helpful but Mr Herrera went above and beyond and I noticed it wasn't just for us.... he treated every one of his customers with the same respect. Thank you Edward for making our romantic getaway a five star experience!!!!!!!!
