The hotel was a God send. Was driving from 9:30am till 10:00pm and just wanted to take care of my brothers pick-up. Had some things piled in the bed of the truck that needed attending to. Then wash-up and well deserved shut eye. Was helping my brother move his things from Q-town, PA to Galveston, GA. A 28ft. Penske moving truck completely filled up with his belongings. Packed and loaded by one person. Let's just say that I will remember this tiny hotel forever because of the need it filled and what it had there to enable me to accomplish a task that was very important in making sure my brother wouldn't have to spend extra money on the move.
We tried to stay here a on 11/29/2024 . They gave us 3 rooms (for my company). The rooms all smelled like mold and mustiness. I asked for different rooms and they were very nice about it... they gave us different rooms on another floor. Those rooms smelled even worse. We tried a third set of rooms and finally gave up because they, too, smelled like mold and Febreeze. They're trying to mask the smell, but not doing a good job. We ended up leaving and Staying up the hill at Howard Johnsons. I asked for a refund several times, but my messages never got through to the appropriate people and I never heard from them again. SO much mold... I feel sic thinking about it again.
I would not recommend this place. The only thing good I can say is the person that checked us in was helpful. It went downhill after that. The room was smelly and dirty. The entire hotel was dated and wornout and not clean. Worst of all as we were packing in the morning to leave someone attempted to enter our room and would have been successful had it not been for the safety latch on the door. We had not checked out or turned in our key card at this point. Someone else had a key card that allowed the door to be opened. If we had not been there at the time they could have stolen everything we had. When I opened the door and looked in the hallway no one was there. Went down to the front desk to tell them and they were clueless as to how that could happen. Needless to say we got out of there as quickly as we could.
This Quality Inn is genuinely one of the best I've stayed in. I was welcomed with kindness that I've never seen in any of the dozens of hotels I've stayed with in my life. The gentleman working when I arrived (6:45pm on Tues, September 3rd) was extremely kind and accommodating. He made me feel incredibly welcome and answered all of my questions, even making sure I didnt lose any of the luggage I dropped along the way to my room. Even our small interaction as I signed into my room was very sweet and patient. He was also very quick to pick up the phone when I had questions about my checkout time! Additionally, I loved that the rooms were accessible inside of the building! Although it's more convenient to park outside of a room, the peaceful quality of interior rooms was a pleasant surprise. It felt significantly more luxurious. The rooms are simple and clean, everything I look for when booking with "budget" hotels. It's genuinely one of the best I've ever stayed at with the kindest people I've ever met. I will definitely consider this hotel as a permanent fixture in my travels. And to the desk/hotel manager, I extended a massive "thank you" for your help and kindness!
We booked a room on 10/11/24 and was charged twice for the room. We called and talked to a lady and she said that she would have the manager to call us to take care of it but never got a phone call back from him. So my husband stopped by there today and talked to a young lady that helped him out with it. Gail Teter called the owner of the hotel and he fixed it right away. We just want to thank Gail Teter for going above and beyond for helping with this matter. We think she would make a great manager Thank you Mike & Chiquita Tusing
