Quality Inn & Suites

The Quality Inn in Portage provided an outstanding experience with friendly staff, spacious, clean rooms, and a well-appointed breakfast. The room was equipped with amenities like a flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Free Wi-Fi was reliable and the complimentary breakfast offered a variety of options. The hotel's excellent location near restaurants, shopping areas, and major highways made it an easy choice for exploring the area. The stay exceeded expectations and the hotel is highly recommended for a reliable, affordable stay.

Avoid this hotel. Management turns all outside lights off early in the evening leaving the entire hotel property in the dark. Rooms are not clean, furniture is not clean, beds are not clean.

Ladies were great, especially the morning lady. E erything was great about the place except the MUSTY smell in the room. Seems like these places just can't get that musty smell out of most rooms which makes me not like getting a room here with my wife or kid. Just seems.like they could improve that in general.

We really enjoy our stay. The nice staff was wonderful. Although I sent a request the next day that we had left dirty laundry there and wanted them to mail we received no answer.

Sometime between late evening on 17 Nov to early am on the 18th, an elderly gentleman traveling with his daughter and two companion dogs stopped here to arrange repairs on a moving trailer. They also planned to stay the rest of the night if necessary. While helping him fix his tire, fender, and restrap the load, the desk clerk demanded that the elderly man leave because one or more patrons did not care for his small dogs after previously stating they were pet friendly. Apparently they had barked at a patron in the lobby. So he left and stood out in the cold with his pups waiting patiently for the repair parts. When I arrived, we disconnected his trailer during repairs and sent them to Dennys. We completed the repairs and delivered his trailer to Dennys. Turns out, he is a generous multi millionaire who recently lost his wife and moving to a more appropriate home near family. Since we helped without expectations, he wanted to show his gratitude by gifting us one of his homes… in fact a 750k home. As an honorable vet I obviously refused such kind generosity however I was thankful for paying for my meal. Can’t imaging what Karma awaits the Quality Inn staff who refused him while in need of a little help. So sad to see people who carelessly shun elderly, pets, or lend a helping hand without expectation of something in return. Not likely that I ever be a Quality in patron again.
