Quality Inn Surfside Myrtle Beach

I usually stay at this property when I am in Myrtle Beach on business but no more. Something has changed. Sink faucet was loose and tub shower faucets were loose. Mattresses were low on one side of the bed. Cigarette burns in bathroom and this is supposed to be a non-smoking room! This use to be a nice property but something changed. I will no longer use this property.

Good location. The check in agent was pleasant and polite. The check out agent was nice too. I like that they recognize I am a member and let me know they appreciate me staying with Choice Hotels. It was clean for the most part. The lobby looked very clean and pleasing. The breakfast was not very full of variety. There were also NO NON DAIRY CREAMERS for those of us that cannot have cream. The King room had some issues. The pillows were soft but the mattress was worn and needed to be replaced. I had a jetted tub but it looked rusted and very old. I did not feel comfortable taking a bath there, which was a shame because I was so sore from my day. The light bulb was out in the standing lamp. All the others worked. HUGE PROBLEM...The USB OUTLETS DID NOT WORK! I plugged my phone in before bed and it did not charge my phone. None of the USBs in the bedside lamps worked! I used different cords but it was the outlets. I had 12% power the next morning. The one on the desk lamp worked but I didn't find out until the following morning. I did my hotel check and saw SOME DEAD BUGS in the corner of my room by the air purifier. (Thank you for having that). I cleaned them up and flushed them down the toilet. A BUG WAS CRAWLING along the edge of the wall. Really? And a little spider crawled on my mattress. This is at 11pm at night and I am not going to change rooms that late. So do better, please. Please take attention to these problems because they are not small. Thank you.

This was a disappointing experience. The room was OK, although there was a cigarette burn in the bedspread of our non-smoking room. There was also a sign at the front desk that said they were short-staffed, so we would be receiving no room service for our three day stay. We could ask for new towels at the desk, but no beds made, trash removal or towels changed daily. My husband suffered an injury after our first night there, and I let the front desk know we'd have to check out the next morning. I asked if we'd be refunded the one night we couldn't stay and were told maybe, but he/we would need to speak to the manager the next morning after 7am. We went to check out in the morning and were told that the owner needed to decide, not the manager, and for us to call back later. Our receipt showed a pending charge of $90. I called the next morning and was told the owner was out, but she would leave a message. The previous pending $90 charge was now charged to my account. I called two days later since I didn't receive a call back and was told the owner would be out, as well as the manager until the next week. I called the next week and was asked a bunch of additional questions and said I would receive a call back, and it's never happened. I have names of everyone I talked to, but again, there was no response. As a Platinum member who exclusively uses Choice Hotels for almost 20 years with no issues, I don't recommend this Quality Inn .

Rooms were very clean but simple. Front desk agents were kinda nice but could’ve been a bit nicer. I would definitely go back.

This hotel is now our go to hotel when visiting Myrtle Beach!! It is close to everything and the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable! The lady at the front desk was so nice! Breakfast was delicious but wish the eggs and sausage were warm and not cold like they were just pulled out of the refrigerator.
