I have only positive things to say about this campground. We visited early in the year so it was quite. The amenities were great and so were the hosts. Definitely ask for a tour of the Salmon Hatchery. The amount of work that goes into helping salmon blew my mind! I highly recommend the Quatse River Campground. The campground is a non profit with all money raised going to the Salmon Hatchery. Sites must be booked in advance and there is a minimum 2 night stay.
Really beautiful. The Quatse river was full of spawning salmon. Susan was friendly. Facilities simple but clean and decent. As much free firewwood as you can burn. Beatiful surrounding area. Super affordable.
Beautiful location close to all the amenities in town and beauty of the northern tip! Really cool Plane crash hike 10 minutes away & about an hour and a half from San Josef! Patrick & Candy the managers are incredible and have some super cool traveling stories! Highly recommend stopping in for a night or two!
Great little campground, quaint and huge trees! Candy and Patrick were lovely hosts. The no see ums were awful but you can’t fault the campground for that, make sure to bring bug spray and cover up well.
We got held up in Port Hardy due to a truck repair. A couple of days turned into a couple of weeks and four weeks later we were still here. Susan, the host was awesome - so helpful and accommodating for our situation. Who knew truck parts were so hard to get in Port Hardy? It’s a great little campground with lots of old growth trees, clean washrooms and private sites. There’s an easy 3.5km walking trail through the forest that follows both banks of the river. And it’s a quick bike ride into town. It really is a hidden gem. Laundry at Port Hardy Marina Coffee and treats at Guidos Dog walks at Storeys Beach Car rental: Budget Highly recommended.
