Stayed here for my cousins annual leaf peeping trip in October. we usually tent but opted for a cabin, and were really impressed. its only one room but fit the 4 of us perfectly. We were out most of the day and only came back for dinner and sleep so it was perfect for what we needed. The bathhouse was clean for campground standards and a short walk, but the porta potty close to our site helped when we had to pee late at night. I think the guests that felt it was dirty probably don't truly camp lol. The campground is a little bit of a drive to the main features of Acadia, but if you are looking for a reasonably priced cabin this is a great choice. I would recommend to anybody exploring the island, not just Bar Harbor!
We stopped here for 3 nights in our campervan. As advertised, it was very quiet and peaceful. All the spots are woody, and not overly manicured, and ours had water and electric. Our spot was near other people, but we never felt that it was crowded or lacked privacy. The bathrooms were old, but in good shape and the fixtures were clean. We did some laundry, and they sold ice and firewood. There’s WiFi at the office, and the folks are very nice.
I stayed here during my visit to Acadia national Park. Check in with easy since I made reservations online. The Hobbit House was adorable and very comfortable.
Great place. Very private. Barely any people in October, while state camp sites like seawall, blackwood's all showed as fully booked. And there is the wood that can be purchased on spot.
Check in was easy and office staff/ owners were super nice! Location was close by a few dining options and great hikes and a light house. We were drawn to Quietside for its advertised sites that didn’t “ seek to squeeze in more and more campers in small treeless spaces” but unfortunately that wasn’t our experience. While our site itself was set up comfortably (picnic tables, fire pit, and platforms), we were completely visible and basically on top of 4 other sites. Campers were loud because sites were so close together and you could hear constant road traffic. Not just the morning fisherman heading out to sea, like car traffic since the campsite is directly off of the main road. But the real deal breaker was the bathrooms - they were gnarly. Black mold growing on the ceiling and shower curtains, vent fans that hadn’t been cleaned in some time and dirt, and hair everywhere - just so dirty.
