Quinn Meadow Horse Camp Introduce

Quinn Meadow Horse Camp is a unique and inviting destination for equestrians located in the beautiful Deschutes National Forest near Bend, Oregon. This campground offers a perfect blend of nature, adventure, and comfort for both horses and their owners. Situated in a lush meadow surrounded by pine forests and scenic trails, Quinn Meadow Horse Camp provides an ideal setting for horseback riding enthusiasts and families looking to connect with the great outdoors.

At Quinn Meadow Horse Camp, you'll find everything you need to enjoy a memorable camping experience with your horse. The camp offers designated sites for RVs and horse trailers, complete with corrals that have been updated to modern pipe panels, allowing for flexibility in setting up shade or additional cover for your horses. Each site is equipped with necessary amenities, including pit toilets, garbage bins, and a manure dump station. The camp also provides access to trails within the national forest, which are perfect for riding adventures.

One of the standout features of Quinn Meadow Horse Camp is its proximity to the Deschutes National Forest, offering riders a variety of trails that cater to different skill levels. These trails wind through picturesque meadows and forests, providing breathtaking views of Central Oregon's natural beauty. The camp also has a friendly and knowledgeable camp host who is always available to assist with any questions or needs you may have during your stay.

While camping at Quinn Meadow Horse Camp, visitors can enjoy the convenience of on-site water sources. However, it's important to note that water is provided via hand pumps, which require manual effort to retrieve. This setup is standard across many campsites in the Deschutes National Forest and is a consideration for those planning extended stays with multiple horses.

Customer feedback highlights the camp's strengths, including its great location, well-maintained trails, and updated corrals. Many visitors appreciate the availability of trails that are accessible without advanced reservations, though some note that certain trails now require paid passes to traverse. The recent improvements to the corral system have been particularly praised, with customers noting the ease of use and safety provided by the modern pipe panels.

One area where the camp could improve is in accommodating larger trailers, as some users find it challenging to fit them into the available sites. Additionally, while the hand pump system works for shorter stays, it may be less practical for those with multiple horses requiring significant water intake daily. Despite these minor drawbacks, Quinn Meadow Horse Camp remains a favorite among horse enthusiasts seeking an authentic equestrian camping experience.

Great location great trails. Recent chainsaw clearing of trails. Trails in good shape. Corrals updated to pipe corrals with the ability to put up tarps or shade cloths for the horses. Many trails now need advance paid trail passes to traverse them. Planning exactly what trail what day? Geese. Isn’t paying campground fees enough? Whose forests are these? Down sides: Sites are hard to fit the bigger trailers into. 2 or 4 horse pens per site. The BIGGEST down side is the hand pump for water. Each horse can drink 15+ gallons per day. The hand pump cannot be fitted with a hose. Each gallon of water is 8 lb, 30 gallons is 240 pounds hauled by hand to you site. The water hand pump is at the far end of the camp With 26 sites. How difficult would it be to install a solar pump extending below the frost line? All camps on Deschutes NF have hand pumps. People camps use WAY less water than horses. Horse camps are a tiny fraction compared to people camps. Food for thought.

Nice campground for horse people! Lots of wonderful trails. Corrals are all updated with pipe panels, not the old wood corrals. Almost all sites are level, there are two pit toilets, one water hand pump, multiple garbage bins and one manure dump. Camp host is super nice and helpful.

Great campground! Love that there are so many trails to ride on right out of camp or haul a few miles to so many other trail heads! My favorite horse camp by far.

Hostess was great. Clean, many camp sites private. One area to get water from pump.creek nearby. One area to dispose of manure. A few vault toilets. Great trails. One of the best horse camps on central Oregon!
