Camped here in 1979 on a six-week canoeing and camping high school trip. About 12 of us kids from Beckett Academy in East Haddam, Connecticut, along with four counselors - Pittman Floyd, Sue Porteos, and two others, along with the housemother, Helen, who took care of the home base in Everglades City. Studied for three days, canoed, camped and fished for three days, then a day off, then repeat for six weeks. It was an outdoor educational adventure! Anyone else from Beckett remember those days?
Camped here 1967or 8. There was a picnic table. National Park rangers checked on us.
Open beach area for fire pit, great fishing everywhere, easy navigation from Chokoloskee.
Beautiful, peaceful, good camp ground with clean port-a-potty.
Perfect place for camping with sandy beach!
