Radisson Hotel Grand Rapids Riverfront

Got there and got a room. Entered the room but found that the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned, trash was full and towels seemed used. They did change our room and it was much better. My only worry about the second room was the broken and fallen shower curtain rod, but everything else worked and was good. We only stayed one night. Had a good time! Our friends who stayed with us in their separate room got trapped in the elevator for 20 minutes or so. And when we tried to check out, it took over 10 minutes just to get acknowledged (when there was no line or anything.) Unsure if I would stay here again. You cannot see the river, only the highway.

They need to update the information, the River Rock is closed so they had no food or dining. The only choices by the counter was candy and pop. The coffee wasn’t even out until 9:30. It was clean but the rooms and pool area is run down. The hot tub is large but everything was very grimy. Good location and free parking. A good rate if you’re just looking to crash.

While this hotel has been a icon in the Grand Rapids area for over 50 years. There is a few things that need attention. The south elevator is not properly working and staff knows all about the issue but for some reason it is still in a working status and does not yield a sign. DO NOT USE!!!! Would work great here! The restaurant is not in use either yet when you call it has a prompt for food and beverage. Well and the back door doesn't lock which means anyone at anytime can enter and stay or warm in the stairwell so if you don't mind a homeless person or three scaring the dog crap outa you this is a great place. It does have new owners but these folks need to fix items right away. The elevator sign would be the first I would say and maybe ride at own risk.

My husband and I stayed for one night for a ball we were attending at the GRAM. The front desk staff were attentive and kind at check in. The lobby was clean and well appointed. That's about where that ended. It seems the hotel is in need of some care and updates. As soon as we hit the elevator we knew. Our room smelled very damp...stale. The linens appeared clean, but the remainder of the room did not. The toilet was quite dirty and it was not the result of one less than thorough clean. The floors were dirty. The bathroom fan did not work and the shower itself felt less than clean with mildew in the shower head. I'm not sure what was above our room, but there were quite loud booms starting about 4 AM above us. Because my reservation was non-refundable without putting up a fuss and because it was one night, we opted to just stay. For the $146 I paid, I did expect cleanliness at minimum. I almost wish I had made the fuss.

Edit. Please reach out to me as I was still not compensated for one of the rooms and no further assistance from either the hotel management or corporate is being offered and I am reduced to investigating the possibility of small claims. All I wanted was a clean bed. I had to call around to find a different hotel due to how filthy the rooms all are. I have never encountered such horrible and cruel people. I was actually told I was not allowed to look at the bed sheets. That all the dirty and stained sheets had others on top of it, as if that made it fine. Now they are refusing to even refund me and are stealing from me. I had tried to only communicate with corporate because they made me feel unsafe. However corporate kept insisting I call them and when I did I was immediately threatened and told to stop calling. All I had ever asked for was a full refund, and they are refusing to do even that. I was told I was given points. I never agreed to these worthless points as I never wanted them and will not be staying in one of their chains ever again.
