Customer Reviews
Its been about 2 weeks. Now that we have a full refund, here is my review. The woman who was at the front desk, black woman just for referrence, probably in her 40s, I think she had glasses, was a nightmare to deal with. It all started at check out. Walked up to the front desk after 5.5 hours of driving to that woman greeting with "Yeah??" From there, she could not find the reservation, but it is not like she actually wanted to, took her about 3 tries, she finally found it,but not before making me very aware that she was annoyed by trying to find it. From there, she gave me a key. I asked her where the room was bcuz I had 3 pieces of luggage to get into the room, and did not want to get lost walking around with all my bags. She pointed, in a super condiscening tone said, "Back there to the left, up the elevator". Got to the room, the key didnt work. Called my friend who actually rented the room, he said she was rude to him too and also had given him a key that didnt work, but at that time, he was not in the room to let me in. From here, I called Ramada and got a call center rep, I asked if someone could be sent up with akey that works, because I had so much stuff, I wasnt about to trolly it all downstairs again. The rep put me on hold, came back about 10 min later to tell me he tried to tell that lady at the front desk that the key wasnt working and I needed help. The rep said that she told him "She (me) has the key on her)". And then hung up on him. While I was still on the phone with the rep, up comes the dammed lady to the door where Im standing with all my stuff trying to tell me "For future reference..." I cut her off right there. I had been nice the whole time even though she was being hateful and rude and let her know we were no longer staying there. I also told her that she was rude, hateful and that it was obvious she hates her job. She tried to come at me by saying "Well Ive been yelled at all day over things I didnt do" I told her that it probably had everything to do with her disrespect and her anger. I threw my key on the floor, told her we def werent staying and I left, in the car again after 5.5 hours. Then, I was talking to my friend on the phone about the whole thing and he said she was just as rude to him and the person infront of him when he was there. I dont know who she is, but she is bad business, rude to EVERYONE and just outright hateful. If I was her boss, I would have fired her. I dont say that lightly either, it is very apparent she hates her job, people and doesnt want to be there. The refund was issued, but not by the hotel, it was refunded through Orbitz. The hotel actually tried to keep $50 for a reservation fee, but that was refunded by Orbitz too. I saw the review left by someone else that was probably about her, and so here is mine.
This is an excellent choice for me whenever I'm coming to Seattle. It's close and convenient to the airport offering shuttle service. And actually only one bus stop from the airport if you prefer. The staff is excellent and very accommodating. The rooms are always clean and offer ample space to stretch out and relax. I've stayed here at least six of my last visits and will continue wherever I come to the Seattle area. I should also.mention they have a very good restaurant on the premises which also has a bar for those who enjoy a meal and a drink. I always say if it isn't broken then don't fix it. That's why I will always put this Ramada at the top of my places to stay. I should also mention that anytime I've shown up early. They've always let me check in before time if a room is available. Also for people coming to the Seattle area who likes their 4:20 there is a good recreational store that's about a ten to fifteen minute bus ride away. Just remember there is no smoking in the building. And to avoid offending other guests it's easy to step outside for a puff. This hotel also offers ample parking in the back for guest and also allows parking for a reasonable fee if you need to leave your car while traveling out of town. I would also add five stars plus for the staff the ladies and gentlemen are excellent!!
Pros: The room was fine. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was functional. I slept well. The desk workers were efficient though not friendly. Door appeared to lock securely. Cons: Only one very slow functional elevator and no stair access. The sheets on the bed had stains from maybe a pen, but did seem like they had been laundered, just stained. The ENTIRE floor reeked of marijuana. Someone must have been openly smoking in the hallway all day for this level of smell. There were trash bags scattered around the building. The Asian restaurant has pretty limited hours and wasn't even open when it was supposed to be. The parking lot did not have a safe vibe, but my car was not vandalized. The parking lot is quite a walk from any entrances and there are no Accessible sidewalks to the parking lot. Which also means if you have rolling luggage you have to play chicken with the cars. There is a pull up in front, but it was completed blocked by their parked shuttle buses.
The rooms are reeking of a foul odor, with the corridor and hallway on the third and fourth floors being particularly unpleasant. I’m at a loss as to the cause of this issue, but the smells are simply unbearable. I noticed trash left on the first floor near the stairwell for almost two days. Additionally, they’ve kept the coffee maker in the restroom, which is simply not a good idea. The only positive aspect is the friendly and helpful front desk staff. Management needs to take immediate action to address cleanness and maintenance issues.
I stay mainly due to the proximity to the airport. The hotel is dated, but clean and functional. The gym has one treadmill and one bicycle, it’s about 10x10, don’t expect to get a workout there. The front desk staff is hit and miss. A couple of the front desk ladies are extreme rude and unprofessional. They give you the sense that you are annoying them when you ask questions. Lack of professionalism and horrible attitude. The downstairs restaurant is over priced and the food is mediocre. Breakfast is not included. The nightly rates are reasonable however.
