Classic Boy Scout Camp. My son and I were up here for Wolf-Bear Camp. Its a wonderful program and I highly recommend it to Cub Scouts. The ground needs a little pick-me-up so if your Troop is looking for service hours give SFBAC a call.
I haven't camped since I was a child. I went camping here for the scouts. The road up needs repairs it felt scary driving up. There were many obstacles for my family during our stay, but we had a good experience. The showers had all kind of bug webs on top. There was a eating area for us which I loved. It was hot during the day and windy at night. We found out there were snakes , spiders and the lovely red ants. We moved our tent 3x during our 3 day stay.
This is scouting property. Not open to the public. Used for training and special scouting events. Primative facilities. No cell service. Recently cattle have been grazing here. We had a bull wandering around our campsite.
I like this place! My issue is with the boy scouts as a whole. Making kids pay for your longstanding negligence is so damn wrong! Those of us who have been there, are not cool with the new, payoff scouts! You won't feel it, but we won't be back!
The road is fixed! Great place to get disconnected, with a big kitchen, a well maintained archery range, and lots of options for camping.
