Location and Accessibility

Raven Winds Campground is located at SW 1770 Bc, Edwards, MO 65326, USA. This address places it in a more secluded, rural part of Benton County, Missouri, offering a genuine retreat from city life. Its location near a large lake, strongly suggested to be Harry S. Truman Lake based on reviews, provides a fantastic setting for water-based activities and scenic views.

While described as "far removed from the city," accessibility for Missouri locals is still manageable, particularly for those willing to venture a bit deeper into the state's natural landscapes. Access roads leading to the campground are typically well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable drive for most vehicles. However, prospective visitors should be prepared for a journey that takes them away from major urban centers and into a more rustic environment. The benefit of this remoteness is the significant reduction in light pollution and highway noise, allowing for spectacular stargazing and a truly peaceful ambiance. Lovely spot next to the lake with lots of hiking and fishing. Perfect for the outdoorsman to get away from the city lights and the sound of the highway. This is a great retreat, far removed from the city. I love camping in these woods rain or shine. The campgrounds are situated on a bluff high above the lake shore. There is an abundance of wildlife everywhere you look. I've seen many animals including bald eagles and scorpions! There is a good swimming area and boat ramp a few miles west of the campground. On this particular weekend, when I took these pictures, it had rained a lot and Truman Lake (Reservoir) was up very high. There were about a dozen other tents, but there was a lot of space at the campgrounds and no need to be right next to each other.
