This is a great place to stay! My wife and I were on a road trip and found this little gem to stay for a night in September 2017. The owner is incredibly nice and knowledgeable about the Red Woods as this was what we came to see. He told us where to go, what to see, and how to make the most of our time there. Couldn't ask for a nicer host. There is a little casino (slots and video only) withing walking distance as well as a couple of restaurants. The room and bathroom were VERY clean and the bed was comfortable. The rooms are decorated in a way that you feel like you are staying in an in-law suite rather than a motel. The rate was very reasonable compared to other local options. The Holiday Inn was more than double the rate! The continental breakfast was very adequate (fruit, oatmeal, muffins, toast, yogurt, cereal, coffee, juice, etc...). Met some nice people passing through as well. There are other lodging options available, but this was the absolute best bang for your buck and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. It is located about 25 minutes away from the coastal Red Woods and Fern Canyon which was a highlight of our trip!

Stayed two nights to hike Redwood NP. Perry, the owner was very helpful with storing our two ebikes alleviating our concerns leaving them on our bike racks when we go hiking (as he did not allow them in the room). The room is basic but felt very cleaned. The carpet and bathtub looked new. No Internet did not bother us as there is a cafe down the street we went for breakfast and they have Internet. Also a casino next door (but it was temporarily closed). A gas station that has fried chicken ( did not try any so not sure if any good). We rode our bikes around the areas, beautiful and quiet. This motel is so reasonably priced and the closest to Redwood trails (Tall tree grove) we gotten reservation to hike. Would stay again.

This is such a hidden gem! We loved it so much! Everyone is so nice and the rooms felt just like home! Super clean and with complimentary soaps and lotions. The family suite was awesome! Its so peaceful we even slept with our windows open. They usually have breakfast but due to the pandemic that was closed. Thank you Perry and all the staff! We want and will come back soon!

Excellent, restful night for a reasonable price. Room was extremely clean and welcoming. We stayed in room 12 which worked well for my family of 5 (two teens each had a twin, my 6'3 husband got his own full size and my 10 year old and I shared the other full size). Two bathrooms was a definite bonus! Breakfast was well stocked with quite a bit of choices and the coffee was good, too. We didn't understand what a small town it was and ended up there on a Sunday evening which really limited our dinner choices. Fortunately, there was a gas station market next door with Chester's Chicken and a lovely little park to eat at. In August I know not much is in bloom which is fine but considering the garden area is specifically highlighted on the website I would have liked the seating areas to have been more welcoming (cleaner). Otherwise the only two items I felt were missing were fairly insignificant: lids for the coffee cups and a hair dryer in the room. Cell service is limited in the area and no wifi available. Out of 5 phones, mine was the only one able to connect with data to the internet. We'd definitely stay again and give it a hearty recommendation!

This is one of the nicest motels I've seen. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely updated. Our room even had a beautiful wardrobe made from local trees. The owners provided a wonderful breakfast with cereal, oatmeal, fruit, breads, hard boiled eggs, coffee, tea, and more that I can't remember! They were very friendly and helpful also. I would definitely recommend this motel!
