Rawlins KOA Journey

It was a great stop, pulled in late night and had an easy check in. Bathroom clean only compliant is the electric plug in tent site is too far from parking spot for car camping. It is on the far side of spot and a barrier in the way.

It was right off I80 when we needed it. Not much else to say. Gravel parking lot basically (its Wyoming so I don't expect green grass but yikes they were packed together like sardines) and quite a lot of highway noise. The showers were tiny but looked like they had recently been renovated. It was also quite windy (again, Wyoming) not unexpected and not really a problem while we were there but something to be aware of. Like everyone there we stayed one night and left at dawn.

This is a good place to stop for the night but it’s not a destination campground. You have to understand the ecology of the area and this is why there is no grass and a lot of gravel and dirt. We stayed twice during a week long road trip and it was a great place for the night. Easy on/off from the interstate. The WiFi is good and the bathrooms/showers are clean. There is a dog park area for your four legged friends. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I would stay here again when passing through the area.

A lot of people are saying it’s not that great. It was a great stop on our journey. We have 6 large dogs and had no issues whatsoever. Yes the dog park is sand. That’s because the whole area is sand. It is not located in the tropics. Services were great. We had a great sleep and hit the road the next morning.

Easy location off of I-80. There is considerable traffic noise but no more than any other campground on an interstate. While the facility is in need of work we could see the new owners busy making improvements. The laundry, which was a major reason we stopped for two nights, was clean, reasonably priced and worked well. Check in and all dealings with staff were positive and friendly. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
