We've stayed at the full hook up sites here a couple of times. The sites are relatively large, flat, and the paved road is great. It's kid friendly, has hiking trails, and is great for bikes. We love glamping here.
Was ok. Some of the sites weren’t very level and the bathrooms by our site were dirty and outdated. We went to the next sites bathrooms for showers because they were clean and updated. The beach was very nice and had a great time swimming and soaking in the rays. Overall a good experience but would prob find somewhere else next time. Makes me realize that my state of Michigan has the best campgrounds because they’re state funded and not private.
Very clean and we'll run campgrounds. Warm and friendly staff, but just too damned far to the lake accesses from within the parks. Definitely not for elderly, small kids or out of shape people. I'm in pretty decent shape and the walking path to the lake was very hazardous, long, steep at times, loose gravel and partially rotted stairs and guardrailing.
We had noticed that this campground is obviously sprayed with weed killer around all the trees and campsites. But today on Monday I was shocked to see the grounds crew spraying campsites and all over peoples equipment that were at their camp. On their water houses, power cables and also around pop up tents with food equipment on them. We asked them to not spray around or need our camp as the wind is blowing at a good clip today and our young children are playing. I’m sorry but this is absolutely unacceptable practice to spray weed chemicals around peoples property without their prior notice!
This was our second time camping at Ray Behren’s. Love it!! Beautiful foliage in the fall. Our site was pretty unlevel, but we knew that coming in. We have a small RV, so we could adjust. We loved our location and will likely return. Lot of bird sounds (saw a painted bunting) and a nice view of the dam. Shower house was clean. It was a bit older and the shower never got “hot”. I used the luke warm shower anyway!!! I’ve been in much worse. Our site had electric and water spigots are sprinkled around, so we filled out tanks. Great dump station. Wide, new, dumpster close and great pressure on the hose for clean up.
