It's a Journey KOA! Beautiful, clean, level concrete sites! Awesome pool and pool house. Fountains, putting green, basketball court, horseshoe pits, hot tub. Just a really nice campground. Just 3 minutes off I-5, right on the Sacramento River. Freeway noise is minimal. Lots of food and stores close by. Friendly staff as usual!
As far as gated, deluxe, urban campgrounds go, this one was good but not great. 60 bucks for a tent site that was a stones throw from a very loud highway wasn't exactly a great value nor sleeping experience. The campsite itself was fine to good though the promised shade structure was missing. Facilities were clean and staff was friendly and helpful.
Cleanest KOA I've been to! Friendly staff, great sites. It is directly off the highway so you hear it all day and night but honestly it just fades to white noise. Also, there is a taco truck right next to it that is fricken incredible!
It pains me to rate the RedBluff KOA with only 2 stars. This place WAS our Thanksgiving tradition. The staff is great, the campground is nice and clean but the security is non existent. Yes, the gates close at dark, but that didn't stop thieves from entering. On our first 2 nights of a 4 night stay, a total of 6 bikes and 3 electric scooters were stolen. Mine and my nephew's bikes were both locked up and our friend's two bikes were locked and double locked with a chain around the two frames. The thieves just cut the cable locks and carried/wheeled them to a waiting truck on the outside. Some Full timers told us this is a common theme. We've been coming to this campground for the past 4 Thanksgivings, but I think this will be our last due to the lack of security in the wee hours of the morning when the thieves have a literal field day. I've been told that it's not only bikes and scooters, but Blackstones and other equipment. So if you do stay here, be aware. If you want to see your stuff in the morning, don't just lock it up, take it in.
First of all I would rather post great 5 star reviews. I'm posting this less than awesome review to save others from experiencing what we did last weekend. This is the location that we've done our annual Friendsgiving trip for a group of us for a few years. It's a great campground, well maintained, etc... HOWEVER when people start coming in and stealing your stuff... it doesn't become desirable at all. Last weekend we had a Blackstone stolen. Blackstone's are not super light so it was probably someone with a vehicle. Coming in at night... hummm.. so it sounds like they have a gate code. This campground also backs up to the river and there is a large homeless encampment. Apparently they've been having these issues for years and have actually caught the thieves on video at night leaving with their customers possessions. BUT they refuse to do anything else about it. If they can see the next morning people stealing stuff on video , don't you think they'd hire night security?? They just want to take the "cheap" way out and not worry about it because if your stuff gets stolen they wont do anything about it but take a useless "report". We also witnessed vehicles (not camping type) driving around the campground very slowly during the day and leaving ... We're speculating here but assuming that they may be casing the joint as the gates are wide open during the day. They do tell you sometimes about the crime. SOMETIMES.... but unless you want to set up camp daily and take it down at night its a pain.. and locking stuff up doesn't help either accordingly to the manager and the other reviewer. Unfortunately at $100 a night and we have 3-5 sites a year for 3-4 nights each time that's very pricey to not be safe and secure.
