We camped with our RV and Jeep. We didn’t stay in the “Motel”, but I can see they have several individual cabins. Very friendly hosts. Very convenient location, close to downtown Silverton, Several Jeep trails start right in town. Views are fantastic. I can’t say enough good things about Red Mountain RV Park and its location. The attached pictures are from our camp site.
Owners were super nice. There's nothing special or charming about this pricey place. We were surprised to see that someone entered our cabin to "tidy up". Felt more like they were wanting to see if our dogs were unattended. Would have appreciated some trust and privacy. We would not return ...
We have stayed at this RV park for several years and have always been happy with their service. Recently I was diagnosed with cancer & starting chemotherapy. So we are unable to make the trip this year. When we called to cancel our reservation we were informed that they would charge us for two days. I wonder how they would feel if they were in our shoes? It's bad being sick with extra expenses now another. Shame on you Red Mountain an you know who you are.
Stayed here for a recent family reunion half of us stayed in the larger cabins for rent - the others used the RV park for motor home parking. Adequate kitchen for cooking with a rustic flair (don't expect ultra modern). The one I stayed in had 2 queen beds, full bath, kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, sink, tables, cookware, utensils, range/oven etc, etc. Daily maid service. Really nice owners who live here year round. My only issue was not enough outlets to plug in necessities I use - especially next to the bed. So most went in the kitchen. Beautiful scenery, very short walk to the small grocery and downtown Silverton. Great service, good discounts for cash payment.
Jim and Amy are down-to-earth and wonderful folks operating this park. When you walk into their office you see pictures framed, hanging on the walls from their own memories they have had from times in & around the SJ mountains. We stayed for a few days, left and then came back because of how convenient and clean and easy of a time we had with our time. Everything was perfect. Jim has much cleaner and nicer jeeps for rent than everyone else around also.. (our jeep took a break on us for a few days so.. we learned and rented from a couple different venues and Red Mountain was overall the best). Had a good time with the resorts we stayed at during our 98 TJ revival in the region but Red Mountain RV resort was by far the most welcoming, cleanest, personal and was straightforward more than all of the others we stayed at or rented jeeps from.
