My family had a great time here. We had 2 adults, one child, and two dogs. Each camping area was good size with enough buffer between each site. The other campers were great. We were able to leave our tent to go to another area for hiking. The adult male of our group did say the men's bathroom was disgusting, I didn't see it, so I don't know what he considers disgusting for a camp site. Thats the only reason for the 4 out of 5.
I spent a week in the Ozarks, I hit a couple different dispersed camping sites. My last stop was Redding campground. It was very comfortable, quiet and peaceful. It was late October, but I still jumped in the cool Mulberry river after a hot day. Will totally go back if I’m in that area again.
This definitely looks like a great place to pull in and camp if you were wanting to just rough it and chill. Other than that it doesn't appear to really be kept up, and the restrooms were pretty rough. I would give the campgrounds a 3 🌟. The trail out of the camp ground to Spy rock is about 9 miles round trip, and I rate it a 5 🌟.
This is a great campground to experience the Mulberry River. One campsite has hookups. The rest are primitive. The bath house is not well maintained.
Nice lil spot. River was way up!! Very peaceful. Has one shower stall, water warms up quick for having to press it continuously. $15 to camp, $5 day use.
It was a really nice place to camp and swim. We started the trail from the campsite and about 2 miles in, the were some kind of bees or something on the trail, got stung 5 or 6 times. Very aggressive stinging insects. Besides that, it was a great place to visit.
Enjoyed 2 nights at the campground! After our previous days on trail, it was the lap of luxury!
