The staff at the check-in booth are super nice. The washrooms are super clean. The sites are super clean. Tons of firewood available. Those are the nice comments. Now for the bad ones... The roads in this campground have gone to crap and need to be completely repaved over. Potholes everywhere. It would be super nice if all these campsites were leveled now that road-building equipment has (GPS) technology. Every single campsite is out of level and there should be no reason for it. Add some gravel to each site too. Haul away all the trees that have blown over and fill in the holes. Also, this campground has power issues. When its super-hot outside, the power grid inside this campground is so old that your AC unit will trip out because of low voltage. Government, please spend some of our money on this campground.
We spent 3 nights at Redstreak with friends and family and what an awesome campground. We stayed in the D loop, which seems like a great location—close to multiple bathrooms and cookhouses, a short walk to the amphitheater where the interpreters put on nightly entertainment focused on the area and animals in the area. While the camp sites are close together, this was ideal for our group camping trip. It’s also a 2.5km hike to the hot springs. It was also nice to have proper bathroom facilities, with hot water and showers. Pretty glamorous compared to how we normally camp. Definitely worth the 4hr drive and already looking forward to making more trips in the future.
Redstreak was a good campground, has hot showers and bathrooms, the only downside is that it’s very tight among the spaces, you’ll be very close to your neighbors and with very little privacy as there is not many trees. But it’s a cozy campsite with beautiful views and the town just down the hill with many shops to visit and a grocery store. Firewood is also provided there to as well!
Fine campsite, very large. To get to the reception from your site takes a while. There are so many mosquito's! You can't sit outside without being bitten. We saw a deer next to our campsite. We took a hike to Radium Hot Springs from the campsite. It's a 2,8km hike. 30 minutes through the forest.
One of the most beautiful campgrounds on our trip. There were animals roaming the campground such as mule deer, woodpeckers and bighorn sheep in the surrounding area. We also saw the northern lights.
