Wonderful campground among the redwoods. I was pleasantly surprised by how laid back and old school this place was. I was expecting gentrified and got quaint charm instead. Getting to know the numerous redwood trees on the property was wonderful. The amenities are family-oriented and numerous. I enjoyed having a store and pub available for meals and snacks. My only complaint is the prices are different for sites on each side of the campground. I did appreciate the fall special!

We stayed at Redwoods River Resort during the 'off-season', and it made for a very nice, quiet & cozy stay. There is a really fun clubhouse & climbing structure for kids, volleyball net, outdoor heated pool, croquet, and lots of outdoor lounge areas with fire rings to enjoy. Bonus - there's also a restaurant & pub where you can order drinks & food to enjoy outside in the loungers! The hospitality is fabulous, and everyone seems to really enjoy working there. We will definitely come back!

Frankly speaking, we were very disappointed. It is OK to be basic, for a resort in the woods, but here is something else: negligence. The cabin we stayed in ("the Firehouse") is in very run-down conditions, with poor and antiquated services: no air conditioning, an old heating plant, old and malfunctioning plumbing. Inside and outside of the cabin the wall painting is crumbling, the bathroom floor is full of holes, the furniture is overused. The room is full of useless objects that, I can only suppose, are meant to be decorations, but they are absolutely not: they are all heavily covered in dust and stains, thus being disgusting. In addition, the fire hoses hanging from the bed structure are also dangerous: we happened to bump in the metal parts many, many times... The bunk beds are meant for little kids, for their length is not adequate for people whose height exceeds 1,30 meters: this is not specified in the description, and it made our sleep very very uncomfortable. There is no possibility to have or buy breakfast at the resort: unacceptable. The campground was very noisy, with loud music and voices. In the night, all around the resort facilities there is far too much artificial lighting, for a place that should be full of nature and relax: you can read by the light that enters the cabin from the outside! And that is a shame, considering the waste, the annoyance, and the impossibility to see the magnificent starry nights in the forest. The price is totally unfair, considering the overall conditions of the facilities and of the cabin, and considering the low season: if not for the price, I would have given a higher score.

Stayed in the Fisherman's Hideout, and it was very clean and cute! There was no wood stove, just a faux-fire heater. I would definitely cook or find someplace else to eat. I cannot stress enough that the food at Harrison's Pub is truly terrible. Fine place to grab a beer. Not deducting points because most people care about the lodging.

Overall this is a wonderful place. Fantastic staff and location. The only negative was that our bed was not very comfortable and gave us back pain, this is a personal thing and others may find it just fine. I'd advise bringing food (and spices) to cook in their lovely kitchenettes and enjoy the views.
