It was good and had a nice fire pit, no raccoons but a weird raccoon or animal skull/mask very creepy and claw marks on tree😵‍💫 It has a cool historic center also nearby and pretty nice/quiet place to camp.

Why no advanced reservations? This basically makes this campground impossible to use for campers who do not own an RV that can pull off the road in the event they cannot get a site.

Was just ok. Too $ for what you get.. camps on top of one another, not privacy, and no beach... just a small rocky area but nowhere to relax on beach. Tables and bathrooms are also nasty. Not worth it.

The State of California is really F-ing up. They closed this campground. It was a great campground. They also closed the Manchester Beach campground. Two of the best campgrounds on the Northern CA coast. This campground was great. It was small and not set-up for RV's so it kept some of the riffraff out. Manchester State Beach campground was great because the campsites were spread out, and you could hear the ocean from the sites, so you did not hear and rarely saw other campers, plus is was a relatively short hike to 7 miles of beach at Manchester SP. F! the State of California Parks Department.
