Refreshing Mountain Retreat and Adventure Center

Absolutely wonderful! The staff was very friendly at every point. Brings the focus of Christmas back on the true reason for the season - the birth of Jesus. The lights are breathtaking. The whole experience was exceptional. I will be back! Thank you to these sweet folks for putting this together ❤️ Very encouraging!

We are first time zip liners . Me, my husband, 9,7, and 5 year old. We did the 3 zips and obstacles. We had no idea how challenging and high those zips were going to be. We loved it ! Our 5 year old on the other side got very emotional on the last zip but Matthew was very kind and patient with him and he was able to complete the course without anymore tears. We also loved the obstacles. My daughter fell on one of the obstacles and someone got to her quickly and kindly and helped her out. She also then wanted to keep going and she completed her level. Overall this place was amazing and exceeded all our expectations! We will be back . Thank you to all the wonderful staff also . Everyone was super helpful and kind.

Absolutely amazing Christmas light display. I am very impressed! Will definitely become a tradition. Only thing I would improve is the price of everything in the cafe. I'm not buying my kids a $5 hot chocolate 🤔

I had an absolute awesome experience! When I told the staff I do obstacle course racing regularly and have done multiple zip lines they let me attack the obstacle course right away alone. It was a blast and there was definitely some complicated ones that slowed me down. The zip lines definitely get the blood pumping and during mid-December they had millions of Christmas lights strong throughout the wooded area which made for some breathtaking views.

Not only are the lights absolutely gorgeous, being very creatively and professionally done, but the staff is friendly and accommodating...and the display is honoring to the true meaning of Christmas, providing stations at which one can pause to read about the true Christmas story from the Bible and learn more about who Christ is. We definitely appreciate this event every year, and every year it gets better! The cafe is terrific too, and a stop at the reptile and amphibian house is always fun, so we highly recommend it all!
