Customer feedback highlights both strengths and areas for improvement. Many visitors praise the quiet atmosphere and scenic beauty, especially during non-peak seasons when fewer campers mean more space and tranquility. Customer Reviews
Large number of electric RV sites with no shade, and a handful of walk-in tent sites with scant shade. Photos show each tent site has a numbered, extra wide parking spot; the second photo illustrates the farthest tent sites (20 and 21) nicely shaded but 200 feet from the parking lot.
Stayed one night at Birch campground two weeks before Memorial Day weekend. Only a dozen or so campers so plenty of sites were available. Fees: $25 for tent site, $30 for non-resident. Electric/water sites at $30 resident, $35 non-resident. Many level sites with some mature trees for shade, overlooking a narrow strip of sandy beach. No real access to the water unless you trek across a marshy area or drive to the day-use section. View of the lake was spectacular and the wildlife amazing, especially the water fowl: two American storks, terns, Canadian geese, and lots of magpies, which gave the area a magical ambiance. And I saw my first sandhill crane here, which contributed greatly to my experience! Unfortunately, the campground bordered a cattle yard so the noise and smell were a little off-putting. Also, the shower facility was unclean, buggy, and the water barely tepid. The electrical outlets in restroom did not work. Would not camp here again but there were still so many things to appreciate. Maybe it’ll get better during the busy season? I hope so.
We had a great time at Rendezvous Beach, on the northside of beautiful Bear Lake. This is the perfect beachy area you want. The tepid water is about 100 feet from the beach area, creating lots of room on the sandy shore for shade tents, playing in the sand, looking for seashells or volleyball. There are covered pavilions, however, I think you have to call and reserve them. There some tables and the men’s and women’s bathrooms are a short walk away. We were able to walk out pretty far before the lake goes over a five or six-year-olds head. We were on the east side of the beach while the rental shack is on the western side, (where most beach goers go). We went on a Friday and almost had the beach to ourselves. A one day pass was around $20 per car. We love it and always return. I gave 4 out of stars due to lack of shade, minimal parking and debris on the shore line.
This is a pretty nice campground. This year we stayed at Birch Campground which was alright. It seems to be geared more towards RVs/Campers. The facilities at Birch were pretty nasty. I showered with my shoes on because the floor was so gross. Last year we stayed at Big Creek. I enjoyed staying there more than at Birch. Big Creek is more covered with trees and the sites seem a bit more tent friendly. The facilities were also much cleaner over there. We didn't spend much time at the beach area but the parking lot was packed and it was really crowded. I did walk over to the beach early in the morning before other people got there.
Camped for a few nights with the family. The camp site leads right to the beach which is awesome but it is close quarter camping as everyone is near each other in the same area. Bathrooms are nice and clean and there are showers on site so really everything you need.
