Residence Inn Durango Downtown

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Residence Inn Durango Downtown, and it was such a delightful experience! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. The suite I stayed in was spacious, clean, and felt like a home away from home. I loved having a fully equipped kitchen, which made it easy to enjoy a quiet meal after a long day of exploring Durango. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, and I slept like a baby every night! One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast. It was fresh, with a variety of options, and provided the perfect start to each day. I also appreciated the hotel’s proximity to downtown Durango. It was just a short walk to shops, restaurants, and the beautiful Animas River Trail. Whether you're in town for business or leisure, this hotel truly makes you feel at ease. I can't wait to return! Weirdly unfriendly service — I presented my info to check-in, he looked at it and asked what I needed. Then, as I looked around the lobby (taking in the breakfast area and snack bar options), he told me to face him and stand closer to the counter (even though I was the only one in the lobby and only a few feet away from him to begin with). I told him my distance was fine, but he seemed very adamant on needing to control the dynamic for some reason. He informed me I needed to park behind the building (I did not), and asked me how many people would be staying in the room (I've never been asked this before). I asked him for waters, he said they have none to give (even in the fitness center the water jug was empty). There were no lights on in the pool area (and soon after kids came in screaming, running, and jumping into the water, so be prepared). The room air vent was covered in dust and set to continuously fan, so I turned the whole thing off. After that, I had a good night's rest. I don't understand why Marriott has such inconsistent service across their various locations — what's the point of loyalty and status? May as well just stay elsewhere.

Family Snowboarding Trip I've never written a negative review, but this hotel earned it. This wasn't our first stay at the Residence Inn in Durango, but it'll definitely be our last. If you're an avid traveler, do yourself a favor: stay elsewhere. We've stayed at numerous Marriott hotels and never been this disappointed. The Marriott price tag doesn't match the subpar experience. Horrible staff. On January 11th, I encountered an unfriendly front desk staff member during the morning shift (6am). When I asked how much longer until breakfast would be ready, she had an attitude and made me repeat myself, despite clearly hearing me the first time. Her response, "You could ask him," accompanied by a point to the gentleman setting up breakfast, was unprofessional and unwelcoming. Additional issues we encountered: · Sliding shower doors wouldn't stay closed, no matter how we tried to secure them. · Towels had stray hairs, and when we requested fresh ones, the front desk simply said, "I'll leave a note for housekeeping." Unfortunately, the towels never arrived, and we had to head to the slopes without showering. · The couch was stained with mysterious marks. · Our room had a stale, unpleasant smell. · Women, be warned: bring your own toilet paper! The provided TP was extremely poor quality and disintegrated during use. · While I didn't see any insects myself, both my husband and his brother reported seeing roaches. Stay here at your own risk. The entire hotel desperately needs a thorough cleaning and some TLC.

Great hotel the breakfast attendant was amazing besides not having mayonnaise and have the same meal all 3 days we were there no his fault definitely owners fault for being cheap. The FDA with the blonde was great also other than putting us on the 3rd floor (AS A TITANIUM MEMBER) when the elevator is broken !!! I know it's in my profile but maybe mention that and ask if I still want high floor

We booked the suite which it was really nice to have the two bedrooms, large living area, full kitchen, and two bathrooms. The location can’t be beat…very close to the train, rafting and many amenities. The rooms are a little dated and could use a facelift but it was clean. Loved having the fireplace in the room. John at the front desk was super attentive and helpful. Always welcoming with a smile. Great service! The kitchen staff was also helpful and friendly. Many options to choose from for breakfast if you eat the standard American diet. Only fruit available if you are plant-based.
