Customer Reviews
Stayed for 4 nights and had a great time at this place. Check-in went very fast, and the employees at the front desk were very polite. The room was spotless, smelled nice, and came with a dishwasher, microwave, plates, bowls, silverware, and a safe. The complimentary breakfast had lots of options, and we always left feeling full. Room service always did a good job every night. The immediate area around the hotel is relatively calm compared to the rest of the city but it's a 20-30 minute subway ride from midtown. Subway access is only a 5-7 minute walk away, and there are nice restaurants nearby. Highly recommend this place.
Customer service was decent— 8/10. The rest of the experience - Not great. The water fountains on the third floor were disgusting and covered in grime that looked as old as the hotel itself. The rooms was bad - smelled like weed smoke and the walls were so thin you could easily converse with your neighbors.
My husband and I stayed here for one night on a quick trip to see some Broadway shows. The location is in the heart of the Financial District, not far from One World Trade Center and all that surrounds it, and the subway. We arrived early and did have to wait all the way until 4pm to check-in, which was a bit annoying - but 4pm IS listed as the check-in time, so I can't fault them. But, the fantastic kicker was this: we were upgraded at the last minute, free of charge, to an ENORMOUS room with an entire private terrace overlooking FiDi! It really was very cool. I don't know how or why it happened, but I'm glad it did. The room was clean, specious, and modern. The complimentary breakfast leaves a lot to be desired, and the elevators are egregiously slow. But overall, we were happy with our stay, and would do so again.
Great location, but definitely a horrible experience. I arrived late with my husband and when opening the bed, found a lot of hair, so we requested a change of linens. When asking this, the front desk asked for proof before they would give the linens. On top of that, they just sent the linens to our room for us to do it ourselves. We had such positive experience here last time, this is our third stay. I have no idea what changed. This day was not consistent to what I have experienced at this hotel in the past.
I’d love to leave a better review here b ‘cause the hotel is fine, but as far as service and a residence inn it fails miserably. I was scheduled to stay at the hotel every week for 6 weeks while I had business in NYC. Because I was supposed to be there for so long and I hate eating out every night, I really wanted a functional kitchen and this one came with a cooktop. Here’s the thing, the cooktop has no vent and it 15 feet away from the window. Meaning that if you want to fry anything like a steak or chicken, you’re screwed, you’re going to set off the fire alarm. When I asked the front desk clerk about a vent he answered, I’m not an engineer… Next, I was put in a two bed room and I wanted a king, no matter that I had Bobby Gold Elite status, I wasn’t getting an upgrade or a king unless I agreed to downgrade to a room without a cooktop.. even when the front office manager promised, the front desk staff said tough luck. I cancelled the next four weeks, moved to a hotel a couple of block away.
