This place is amazing, the best place I have ever been too. The worst part was there were a lot of flies. But great RV parking, restrooms were stocked and clean and close to all campsites. A table and fire ring at each site, so with stage 1 fire restrictions we could light a fire in the fire ring. The waterfall down the road was amazing but you can’t walk down to swim in it. There were only 2 others campers there and there were so many stars out. Don’t let this secret out!
Beautiful place to camp but don't trust Google maps to get you there safely.🤬 It took us on the road from hell... 🤣 Going from Albuquerque up there it took us up around through Gallina. It was raining and the clay mud was a total slip and slide. 😳 The views along the way were great and we came in through the back entrance to the camp area. Also there was a lot more people than we expected up there.
I've only camped here in winter and each time I've been the only one there. Its snowy but it's a great trailhead to get into San Pedro Parks Wilderness.
Usually a beautiful clean, quiet spot, but I went up there yesterday(8/27/23) and the road to camp was closed. It wasn’t a huge deal since there is a BEAUTIFUL campground a few miles down, but I was very confused.
Just an amazing place Great for caping and ATV riding.
